Sieht fast aus wie die Auffahrt zum Colle di Tende in Ligurien. Die südliche, sich in zahlreichen Serpentinen heraufwindende Route zum Stol hat diesen typischen Militärstraßencharakter, der Touren wie diese so besonders machen. Für die Auffahrt wähle ich aber die Nordseite über Zaga aus. Von Kobarid führt einen die Route anfangs auf Asphalt bis Trnovo Ob Soci. Im Ort zweigtman rechts ab und gelangt über eine Hängebrücke auf einen teilweise grobschottrigen, landschaftlich schön angelegten Wanderweg, vorbei an Wiesen, Almen und immer nah an der Soca bis zum kleinen Ort an der Bundestraße. Am Gasthof biegt man rechts ein auf die Straße nach Uccea. Bis kurz vor der Grenzstation folgt man der in moderater Steigung bergaufführenden Straße. In Sichtweite des Grenzhauses verlässt man diese und begibt sich auf die beginnende Schotterstraße immer bergauf zum höchsten Punkt der Tour, das Wegedreieck am Sattel, der Gipfel des Stols dagegen ist nur zu Fuß erreichbar. Fährt man weiter, wird bald darauf der Blick frei auf besagte Serpentinen der von Süden heraufkommenden Schotterstraße. Durchwegs ruppig und grobgeschottert geht es nun eine ganze Weile den Berg hinunter, bis man bei Sedlo wieder auf Asphalt mündet. Almost looks like the driveway to Colle di Tende in Liguria. The southern, is winding up in numerous serpentine route to Stol how do these typical military road character of these tours so special. But for the driveway I find the north side about Zaga. From Kobarid performs a route beginning on asphalt to Trnovo Whether Soci. In place zweigtman right and passes over a suspension bridge to a partially coarse gravelly, scenic hiking path, past meadows, pastures and getting close to Soca to the small town on the federal road. At the inn, turn right onto the road to Uccea. Until shortly before the border post, follow the uphill road in moderate slope. Within sight of the boundary you leave this house and embarks on the incipient gravel road uphill to the highest point of the tour, the directional triangle on the saddle, the summit of Stols other hand, is accessible only by foot. Driving further, will soon clear view of the said serpentines of coming up from the south gravel road. Consistently rude and grobgeschottert it is now quite a while down the mountain until it opens again on asphalt at Saddleback. Now follow the road a few miles to the point DERTOUR in Kobarid.
