Siamo partiti da Randa (1439 mt) direzione Zermatt, per il semplice motivo che a Zermatt non si può arrivare in auto, la teoria dice di parcheggiare al paese prima, Tasch, dove si trovano parcheggi solo a pagamento e quindi… al paese prima gratis !!!
Arrivati a Zermatt (1620 mt) cercare la stazione della funivia e da li proseguire su asfalto fino a Schweigmatten, appena prima di scendere verso l’altra stazione funicolare troverete a sx una strada sterrata che sale con una pendenza poco invitante…. ecco è la strada giusta, una pista da sci che scende da Gornergrat. Risalitela e incontrerete Riffelalp (2211 mt)> Riffelberg (2582 mt) > Gornergrat (3089), all’osservatorio.
Panorami pazzeschi vi daranno la forza di proseguire, una buona parte a spinta data la pendenza del percorso, inpedalabile sempre di più a causa della stanchezza. (ovvio, per noi che non siamo ermeio….).
La discesa è veloce e poco tecnica ma molto divertente. Siamo ritornati a Riffelalp e abbiamo deviato a dx seguendo le indicazioni Findeln e poi Zermatt.
Per chi non vuole farsi questa scampinata può prendere il trenino a valle e salire fino a Gornergrat portandosi la mtb, godersi il panorama e godersi la discesa il tutto penso si possa avere spendendo circa 100 € (mi.ch.a !!!!) di sola andata con il trenino a cremagliera ( sul prezzo non sono sicurissimo).

We started from Randa (1439 m) towards Zermatt, for the simple reason that you can not get to Zermatt by car, the theory says to park in the country before, Tasch, where there are parking lots only after payment and then ... the first free country !!!
Once in Zermatt (1620 m) check the cable car station and from there continue on asphalt until Schweigmatten, just before going down to the other cable car station on the left you will find a dirt road that goes up a slope with little inviting. ... here is the right way, a ski slope that descends from Gornergrat. Era, and, meet Riffelalp (2211 mt)> Riffelberg (2582 mt)> Gornergrat (3089), the observatory.
Crazy Beautiful will give you the strength to continue, a good part to the boost given the slope of the path, always inpedalabile more because of fatigue. (Obvious to us that we are not ... ermeio.).
The descent is fast and very technical but very funny. We returned to Riffelalp and we have deviated to the right and then follow the signs Findeln Zermatt.
For those who do not want to get this scampinata can take the train to the valley and climb up to Gornergrat, taking the bike, enjoy the view and enjoy the downhill I think we can all be spending about 100 € (mi.ch.a !!!!) one-way with the rack railway ('m not sure on the price).
