Start und Ziel ist der Bamberger Hauptbahnhof. Bis Schesslitz fährt man bequem im Tal auf Radwegen und ist dann am Fuße der Giechburg perfekt warmgefahren. Auf der geteerten Straße fährt man die ca. 150 hm zur Giechburg hoch. Im Sommer ist im Hof der Burg ein Biergarten, der zur Einkehr einlädt. Auf einem kurzen Singletrail fährt man Richtung "Gügel" - der Kapelle auf dem Nachbarberg. Über Pünzendorf, Kremmeldorf und Schammelsdorf geht es nach Litzendorf und durch den Hauptmoorswald zurück nach Bamberg. Im Schützenhaus, an dem man kurz vor Unterquerung der Autobahn durchfährt, besteht nochmals die Möglichkeit zur Einkehr.
