Startpunkt ist das obere Drittel der Bergstraße in Heidelberg-Handschuhsheim. Am Ende dort rechts in die Mühltalstraße einbiegen. Dieser folgen und nach einem ersten Anstieg den Bach überqueren und links wieder in den Wald fahren. Dem Weg immer nach oben weiter folgen bis zu einer kleinen Hütte. Dort rechts den Weg hinauf, und den ersten Weg links fahren. An der Kreuzung halb links nach oben den Weg nehmen. Nach einiger Zeit kommt rechts ein breiterer Weg, der relativ unbefestigt ist. Der Abschnitt ist nicht allzu lang und endet am Gipfel des Weißen Steins. Nun erfolgt die Abfahrt bis kurz vor Peterstal. Dort rechts wieder in den Waldweg einbiegen.Der Weg endet am Rand von Ziegelhausen. Dort geht es auf der Seitentraße weiter zum Sportzentrum hinauf. Am Wendekreis rechts geht es wieder auf einen Waldweg und kurz danach gleich wieder links leicht bergab. Später nach einer Steigung endet der Weg auf dem Philosophenweg. Den Weg bis zum Kiosk fahren und dort rechts bergauf dem Weg folgen. Nach dem Anstieg kommt man auf den Mönchbergweg, der einem am Ende links wieder auf das obere Ende der Bergstraße bringt.
