368 km und 10.000 Höhenmeter sind doch eine echte Alternative zu den Alpen. Seit Frühjahr 2008 verfügt die Schwäbische Alb über eine Strecke, die Sport und Genuss gleichermaßen bietet: den Bike-Crossing-Schwäbische Alb. Der Trail führt unter der Bezeichnung „Bike-Crossing (X-ing)” von Aalen im Nordosten bis nach Tuttlingen an der Donau im Südwesten. Immer entlang des gesamten Albtraufs. Auf der 368 km langen, abwechslungsreichen Strecke, sind rund 10.000 Höhenmeter zu bewältigen. Sportlich ambitionierte Biker, die konditionelle Herausforderungen mit herrlichen Naturerlebnissen verbinden wollen, erleben hier die ganze Faszination einer unvergleichlichen Naturlandschaft. Die gesamte Strecke ist vorbildlich ausgeschildert, sodass ein Verfahren nahezu unmöglich ist. Dennoch kommen die Vorteile der GPS Navigation auch hier zum Zuge, wenn beispielsweise Schilder fehlen oder verdreht wurden. Die einzelnen Etappen habe ich nach meinen Bedürfnissen/ Wünschen immer ein wenig abgeändert. Wer mehr Infos oder Bilder zu den Varianten haben möchte, kann gerne über das Kontaktformular mit mir in Kontakt treten. -------------------------------------------------------- Diese Etappe durch mein Heimatbikerevier startet am Gruibinger Wanderparkpatz der A8 und führt zunächst parallel der L1213 an der Fengshui-Raststätte vorbei zum Asphaltwerk. Dort beginnt der Anstieg über Hillenwang, Buchhalde und Wolfbühl zum 806 Meter hohen Bürg hinauf. Es folgt eine schöne Fahrt (teilweise auf Trails) am Albtrauf entlang bis zu den Eckhöfen. Einen super Blick auf das bekannte Kirschendorf Neidlingen hat man vom Gleitschirmfliegerstartplatz aus. Von den Eckhöfen ist es nur noch ein Katzensprung zum Hofgut Reussenstein, welches am Wochenende bewirtet ist und der Ruine Reussenstein. Hier bietet sich einem ein grandioses Panorama auf das Pfannental. Anschliessend geht es auf einem superfeinen Singletrail um die Ruine herum bergab in richtung Wasserfall. Wer möchte kann einen Abstecher dorthin unternehmen. Danach geht es abermals bergan zum Wanderparkplatz Bahnhöfle und weiter auf dem sehr schönen Nordrandweg zum Heimenstein. Wer möchte kann dort eine sehr schöne Karsthöhle mit Balkon besichtigen(Öffnungszeiten wegen der Brutzeit von Falken beachten). Es folgt die Abfahrt auf einem schönen Trail zur Hindenburghütte und weiter zum Wanderparkplatz Quiekereck. Zum Otto-Hofmeister-Haus und dem Schopflocher Moor ist es nicht weit. Ein Abstecher lohnt sich. Vom Quiekereck geht es über Feldwege nach Krebsstein, wo man einen wirklich atemberaubenden Blick vom Wasserfels auf Gutenberg geniessen kann, bevor es auf einem tollen Trail hinab ins Lenninger Tal geht. Von Gutenberg geht es zunächst auf einem Schotterweg in richtung Oberlenningen, bevor dann gemütliches Rollen bis Unterlenningen die Etappe zum Abschluß bringt. Im Nachbarort Brucken kann man vorzüglich in der Krone, direkt an der Durchgangsstrasse gelegen speisen.
