Die Tour beginnt in der Innenstadt von Freiburg (Nähe Stadttor) und führt im Uhrzeigersinn über einen schönen Spitzkehrentrail Richtung Rosskopf. Schon der erste Teil der Tour verspricht Fahrspaß pur. Schotterwege, Waldwege und Trails wechseln sich ab, bis man endlich den Rosskopfturm erreicht. Dort trifft man meist Enduro- und Freeridespezialisten mit Vollvisierhelm und Protectoren. Für den folgenden Singletrail "Borderline" die ideale Ausstattung, auch wenn ich beim ersten Mal noch etwas gemütlicher und ohne Arm- und Beinprotectoren hinunter gekommen bin. Das nächste Mal werde ich wohl aber auch etwas mutiger sein und dann ist Vollschutz Pflicht. Der Trail wurde von Freiwilligen Bikern in mühevoller Arbeit und mit Genehmigung der Forstbehörde mit Naturmaterialien gebaut - also respektvoll behandeln und Wanderer freundlich Grüßen, denn der Trail ist auch gleichzeitig Wanderweg. Am Anfang und ganz am Schluss recht steil und für Trailanfänger nicht geeignet. Der größte Teil ist aber für die meisten fahrbar und macht mächtig Spaß. Ein Anlieger reiht sich an den nächsten und mittendrin wartet ein tückisches Schlammloch, dass besser übersprungen als überfahren werden sollte, sonst droht Abstieg über Kopf. An der St. Wendelin-Kapelle vorbei und geradeaus weiter auf dem Singletrail, der in den sog. "Lindwurm" übergeht. Hier kreuzt man ständig den Wanderweg und kann sich in den Anliegern und Wurzelpassagen austoben. Der Trail endet an der Jugendherberge und zurück geht es auf dem Radweg an der idylischen Dreisam entlang zum Ausgangspunkt.

The tour begins in the city of Freiburg (near gate) and leads clockwise a beautiful switchback trail towards Rosskopf. Even the first part of the tour promises pure driving pleasure. Gravel roads, forest roads and trails are interspersed, until one finally reaches the Rosskopf tower. There is usually true enduro and freeride specialists with full-face helmet and protectors. For the following single track "Borderline" the ideal equipment, even if I came a bit cozy and down without arm and leg protectors for the first time. Next time I will but probably be something bolder and full protection is required. The trail was built by volunteers bikers painstakingly and with the permission of the Forest Department with natural materials - so treat them with respect and hiker friendly regards, because the trail is at the same trail. Not suitable at the beginning and the very end rather steep trail for beginners. The majority, however, is navigable for most and makes a lot of fun. A riparian joins to the next and in the middle waiting a treacherous mud hole that better skipped than should be run over, or face down on the head. Past St. Wendelin Chapel and continue straight on the single trail, which passes into the so-called. "Dragon". Here you are constantly crosses the trail and can let off steam in the berms and root sections. The trail ends at the hostel and it comes back on the bike path at the idyllic Dreisam along to the starting point.
