Beginnend in Freiburg am Schwabentor geht es über einen kleinen Fußgängerpfad am Fuße des Schloßbergs am Gewerbekanal entlang und dann in anspruchsvollen Kehren zum Schloßbergring hinauf. Auf dem Ring angekommen, geht es weiter ostwärts in Richtung Roßkopf, nach ca. 500m zweigt links ein steiler Pfad ab, den man über zwei Kreuzungen hinweg und insgesamt 200 hm folgt. Über den Forstweg geht es 300 m hinauf, an einer Kreuzung geht es geradeaus über einen Trail weiter. An der nächsten Kreuzung links den Forstweg bis zum Roßkopf folgen. Oben angekommen empfiehlt sich der Roßkopfturm mit seiner grandiosen Aussicht und eine Betrachtung der Windräder gigantischen Ausmaßes. Die Abfahrt erfolgt auf den ersten 100 Metern auf dem selben Weg, geht dann allerdings geradeaus weiter in die anspruchsvolle Downhillstrecke mit Steilwandkurven und ein paar Sprüngen (Sattel herunterstellen nicht vergessen!). An einer Kreuzung angekommen geht es geradeaus in den Trail weiter, an einem Baumstamm, den man überspringen kann zweigt der Trail rechts ab und endet an der Kapelle St. Wendelin. Dort rechts haltend fährt man immer geradeaus (über zwei Kreuzungen) bis man sich über der Waldgaststätte St. Ottilien wiederfindet. Über wenige anspruchsvolle Kehren geht es dann bis zur Waldgaststätte, bei dieser angekommen geht es nochmals rechts ein paar Höhenmeter wieder hinauf, anschließend aber in leichtem Gefälle über den Schlossbergring in später gewohnter Strecke zurück. Gerade die Kehren am Schluss (die man auch schon hochgeradelt ist) machen sehr viel Spaß. Gerade im unteren Bereich ist sehr mit Passanten zu rechnen. Im Zweifelsfall langsam machen und absteigen, damit gibt's keinen Stress!

Beginning in Freiburg on Schwabentor it goes through a small pedestrian path at the foot of Castle Hill on the commercial channel along and then up in demanding Return to Schloßbergring. Once on the ring, it continues east towards Rosskopf, after 500m turn left, a steep path that one follows the two intersections of time and a total of 200 hm. About the forest it goes up 300 m, at a crossroads, go straight over a trail further. At the next junction turn left and follow the forest road to the Rosskopf. At the top of the tower Roßkopf is recommended with its magnificent view and a view of the wind turbines on a gigantic scale. The departure takes place on the first 100 meters in the same way, but then goes straight into the demanding downhill course with banked turns and a few jumps (saddle down provide not forget). Arrived at an intersection, go straight into the trail continues on a tree trunk, which you can skip the trail branches off to the right and ends at the Chapel of St. Wendelin. Then keeping right Continue straight ahead (two intersections) until you look over the Waldgaststätte St. Ottilia finds. About a few demanding sweeping it then goes to the forest restaurant, this arrived it goes right again a few meters back up, but then in a slight slope on the Schlossberg ring in the usual route back later. Just the bends at the end (the one is already highly cycled) a lot of fun. Especially in the lower area is very likely to passers-by. When in doubt, make slow and descend, so there's no stress!
