Eine echt tolle Tour für den, der sich mal richtig die Kante geben will. Von Gotha geht es über die beschilderte Radroute 1 abseits von befahrenen Straßen nach Ohrdruf bis Luisenthal. Hoch auf die Ohrastaumauer und über die Alte Oberhofer Straße nach Oberhof. Erste Rast kann man am Haus des Gastes machen. Weiter durch den Ort und links am kl. Ski- und Rodelhang an der B247 vorbei. Jetzt geht es erstmal über gut befahrbare Wege durch den Wald bergab. Eine kleine steile Schiebepassage ist später auch dabei. Dieser Teil ist noch verbesserungsfähig durch eine Umfahrung. Bein nächsten mal. Den Kickelhahn sieht man auf den ganzen Hinweg leider nicht. Das macht es allerdings auch interessant. Ist man überhaupt noch richtig? Weiter durch die Ortschaften Gehlberg und Manebach. Ab Manebach ist der Kickelhahn (861 Meter) endlich ausgeschildert. Von hier gibt es mehrere Auffahrten. Allerdings ist der Anstieg, bis zu 17% Steigung, schon recht lang, steil und holprig! Ich habe den Weg gewählt, der am Großen Hermannstein und am Goethehäuschen vorbei führt. Diese sollte man nicht aus lassen. Oben angekommen hat man eine super Aussicht auf den umliegenden Thüringer Wald. Man sieht den Schneekopf sehr weit weg. Selbst den Bleßberg mit Sendeturm kann man bei guter Sicht erkennen. Der Turm des Kickelhahn ist besteigbar. Tolle Aussicht auf Ilmenau. Für Essen und Trinken ist durch einen Gasthof gesorgt. Jetzt Abfahrt durch den Wald bis Stützerbach. Vorbei am Schwimmbad und weiter geht es über fest gesplittete Waldwege. Nach ein paar Kilometern ständig bergauf kommt man direkt am Mordfleck und Rennsteig an. Ich bin dann noch auf den Schneekopf gefahren und wollte mir den Kickelhahn halt von dieser Seite aus anschauen. Weiter ab dem Rondell über den Rennsteig bis zur Neuen Ausspanne und über die Straße runter nach Tambach. Abseits der Straße auf gut befahrenen Wegen durch Wald und Felder über den Boxberg nach Gotha. Ich empfehle diese Tour nur gut trainierten Bikern. Es ist auf jeden Fall eine Herausforderung mit tollen Auf -und Abfahrten im Thüringer Wald. Man hat alle Arten von Wegen. Wobei sich fast alle Wege sehr gut befahren lassen. Auf gehts!

For food and drinks will be provided by an inn. Now exit through the forest to Stuetzerbach. Past the pool and on it goes on tight forest trails split. After a few kilometers constantly uphill to get directly to the murder spot and the Rennsteig. I then drove on the snow head and was holding me see the Kickelhahn from this page. More from the roundabout on the Rennsteig to the New Ausspanne and down the road to Tambach. Off the road to well-traveled paths through woods and fields on the Boxberg to Gotha. I recommend this tour only well trained bikers. It is definitely a challenge with great descents on -and- in the Thuringian Forest. Has all kinds of ways. Where almost all paths can sail very well. Here we go!
