Am Parkplatz der Arbeitsagentur Traunstein in der Chiemseestr. 35 startet man die Tour zunächst in den Ortsteil Haslach hinüber und am Gasthof Alpenrose links abbgiegend hinunter zur Bahnunterführung (Strecke Traunstein - Ruhpolding) um dann auf den Weg neben der Traun einzubiegen. Hier kann man bis Siegsdorf entweder den linken Pfad (direkt neben der Bundesstraße) oder die rechte Staubstraße (mehr Wanderer und Radfahrer) vor der Traun wählen. Am Siegsdorfer Schwimmbad vorbei fahren wir zum Ort hinein und bleiben auf der Westseite der Traun. Beim Parkplatz der Sparkasse geht direkt an der Mauer des Traunkanals ein Wander-/Radweg der an der Traun entlang zum Höfplinger Wehr und weiter über Höpfling immer westlich der Traun bleibend bis zur Kneippanlage und weiter bis zur Aspahltstraße neben der Bahnlinie kurz vor Eisenärzt führt. Jetzt links die Bahnlinie überqueren und auf der Straße die zum Parkplatz des Gh "Forellenhof" führt bleiben. Nicht die Traun überqueren! Vor dem Gh geht es nun links über eine überdachte Holzbrücke in den Ort hinein und dort rechts auf der Hauptstraße bleiben, bis nach 50 m an der Kurve linkerhand eine steile Stichstraße hinauf zum Ortsteil Hörgering führt. Hier hinauf! Nun bleibt man immer rechts oberhalb der Traun und folgt dem ausgeschilderten Weg nach "Vordermießenbach". Es geht im Wald hinunter und dann sehr steil hinauf, bis man vor Vordermießenbach eine freie Wiese erreicht. An mehreren Häusern vorbei geht es auf der Asphaltstraße abwärts nach Ruhpolding, am Gh "Alte Säge" vorbei. Die Traunbrücke rechts lassen wir unbeachtet und fahren zum Ortsteil Zell. Bei der Kirche St. Valentin, vor dem Golfplatz bleibend, fahren wir am kleinen Ralderweg, später direkt auf der Straße zum Ortsteil Infang - Gnaig und biegen dort in die Forststraße links ein. Hier geht es am schattigen Windbach entlang bis zur Windbachdiensthütte. Am Abzweig folgt man der nun links aufwärts führenden Straße zur Rabenmoosdiensthütte. Kurz danach geht links eine Straße leicht abwärts bis zur alten Zinnkopfhütte (nicht bewirtet, Wasser am Brunnen). Manchmal ist der Jäger Rudi anzutreffen mit dem ein kleiner Ratsch sicher lohnt. Die Weiterfahrt ist durch ein kurzes Stück Wildwuchs unterbrochen, führt aber an den Zinnkopf von der Eisenärzter Seite heran und man kann dann wieder auf besten Forststraßen abwärts nach Siegsdorf/Höpfling abfahren und an der Traun auf die Anfahrtsstrecke gelangen. Dann kann man sich ja für die andere Seite der Traun entscheiden.
