Bellissimo percorso realizzato in mountainbike su piste ciclabili, strade a scarso traffico veicolare e su alcune strade sterrate con partenza da Soiano del Lago in senso orario. Lungo il percorso sono state toccate varie località della sonda bresciana del lago di Garda: Moniga Porto, Padenghe,Carzago Riviera, Castrezzone, Puegnago, Manerba, Solarolo. Segnalo che nel percorso dai Laghi di Sovenigo a Pieve Vecchia di Manerba si ha una spendida vista sull’intero golfo (foto 1-2). In particolare descrivo di seguito alcuni dei luoghi più interessanti: Castello di Padenghe ed i Laghi di Sovenigo.
CASTELLO DI PADENGHE (foto 3-4-5)
Padenghe è dominato da un castello posto su un colle, dal quale si può godere di una vista suggestiva, con Sirmione in primo piano. Il Castello è stato costruito tra il IX e il X secolo, al tempo delle invasioni ungariche, su antichi ruderi di epoca romana; quello che oggi ammiriamo è un rifacimento operato tra i XIII e il XIV secolo. Anticamente il castello era circondato da un fossato il cui riempimento è stato ultimato nel 1959. La struttura, con torre di difesa a pianta quadrata alta 20 metri, si erge su un'altura che sovrasta il centro abitato. All'interno delle mura, alle quali si accede tramite un portale ad arco dotato di ponte levatoio, trovano posto alcune abitazioni divise da due strade. Dal Castello si ha una bella visione sul Golfo di Padenghe e sul Lido di Lonato (foto 6).
Laghi DI SOVENIGO – S.Quirico di Puegnago (foto 7: uno del laghi):
Nel territorio di Puegnago si trova anche un piccolo angolo dal profumo esotico. Sono i laghetti di Sovenigo dove, in luglio e agosto, fioriscono i fiori di loto che la tradizione locale vuole importati direttamente dal Giappone. Nei mesi estivi, il caldo rosa dei fiori colora le grandi foglie che coprono totalmente gli specchi d'acqua ricreando un angolo d'oriente nel verde della Valtenesi.
I bellissimi fiori vengono raccolti e venduti sul posto durante la festa del fiore di loto, sagra che si tiene sempre nei mesi di luglio ed agosto. Da alcuni anni nell'oasi nidificano, perfettamente a loro agio, famiglie di cigni.

Beautiful trail built by mountain bike on bike paths, roads and little traffic on some dirt roads departing from Soiano del Lago clockwise. Along the way have been touched various locations in the probe of lago di Garda Moniga Porto, Padenghe, Carzago Riviera, Castrezzone, Puegnago, Manerba, Solapur. I note that in the path from the Lakes of Sovenigo in Pieve Vecchia Manerba you have a splendid view of the entire bay (photo 1-2). In particular, I describe below some of the most interesting places: Padenghe Castle and the Lakes Sovenigo.
CASTLE PADENGHE (photo 3-4-5)
Padenghe is dominated by a castle on a hill, from which you can enjoy a picturesque view, with Sirmione in the foreground. The castle was built between the ninth and tenth centuries, at the time of the Hungarian invasions, on the ancient ruins of the Roman period; what we admire today is a reconstruction made between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. In ancient times, the castle was surrounded by a moat whose filling was completed in 1959, The structure, with tower defense with a square 20 meters high, stands on a hill overlooking the town. Inside the walls, which are accessed through an arched portal with drawbridge, some houses are placed divided by two roads. From the castle you have a beautiful view of the Gulf of Padenghe and Lido di Lonato (photo 6).
Lakes Sovenigo - S.Quirico Puegnago (Photo 7: One of the lakes):
In the territory of Puegnago is also a small angle from the exotic scent. They are the lakes Sovenigo where, in July and August, the flowers bloom lotus that the local tradition imported directly from Japan. In the summer months, the hot pink color of the flowers large leaves covering totally bodies of water recreating a corner of the East in the green Valtenesi.
The beautiful flowers are harvested and sold on the spot during the festival of flower lotus festival that takes place always in the months of July and August. For several years in the oasis nest, perfectly at ease, families of swans.
