Gran bel giro con partenza e arrivo a Bormio, passando per scenari di alta montagna, laghi e sentieri divertenti.
Si parte in direzione strada dello Stelvio (4 km, 400m), e dopo i Bagni vecchi si prende a sinistra (Bosco Piano, ironico...), in direzione Grasso di Solena (Segnavia 184).
Da qui, dopo il tratto in discesa fino al ponte (possibili tagli nel bosco) si inizia a salire su strada forestale all'interno di una bella pineta. Fondo compatto, a tratti smosso, e pendenza sostenuta rendono questa salita un bel "riscaldamento" per il resto del giro (4,5 km , 700m - breve tratto in discesa).
Oltrepassato il rifugio, si tiene a sinistra e si arriva ai Laghi di Cancano; prendiamo la strada di destra, chiusa in buona parte al traffico automobilistico.
Passati i due laghi, proseguiamo a sinistra in direzione Passo del Gallo (Segnavia 182).
Il sentiero costeggia il fiume, fino ad attraversarlo per diventare poi single.
Da qui un tratto spettacolare (un po' esposto) sopra il Lago di Livigno ci conduce fino all'inizio della seconda salita di giornata. Con numerosi tornanti nel bosco si sale senza mai troppa fatica fino all'alpe, e si prosegue poi su pascoli aperti fino al confine di Stato ( 4km, 400m).
Poco dopo, al bivio si prende a destra, in breve salita con tornanti, sotto il Doss dal Termel.
Siamo al punto più alto del giro, fate un pausa e godetevi la vista sulla Val Mora, sdraiati in un prato di stelle alpine.
La discesa che segue è divertente, un po' insidiosa per fondo (quasi sabbioso) e contropendenza. Attenzione anche alle canaline di scolo, molto profonde.
Dopo il ponte, si prosegue e poi si prende a destra su un breve tratto tecnico nel bosco che ci porta sul sentiero di fondovalle.
Da qui il sentiero diventa un sali (-) e scendi (+) molto fluido e divertente, su fondo compatto e sabbioso (a tratti tecnico ed esposto) che costeggia il fiume fino al apasso di Val Mora.
Qui si riprende la strada dell'andata verso i laghi di Cancano e Solena.
La discesa di Bosco Piano la si ripercorre o si possono prendere alcuni tagli nel bosco, come da traccia. Ritornati sulla strada dello Stelvio, se si hanno ancora energie si può seguire la traccia e prendere a sinistra verso la Pedemontana (ancora qualche strappo in salita) per poi scendere su Bormio in fuoristrada, passando dal Baitin del Mago. Great nice ride with start and finish in Bormio, passing scenery, high mountains, lakes and trails funny.
Part in the direction of the Stelvio road (4 km, 400m), and after the old Baths turn left (Bosco Piano, ironic ...), in the direction of Solena Grasso (Trail 184).
From here, after the downhill section to the bridge (possible cuts in the wood) you start to climb on a forest road in a beautiful pine forest. Fund compact, sometimes loose, and sustained gradient ascent make this a nice "warm-up" for the rest of the lap (4.5km, 700m - short downhill section).
Beyond the shelter, is held in the left and Coming to the Lakes Cancano; take the right road, closed to traffic for the most part.
The past two lakes, continue left towards Passo del Gallo (Trail 182).
The trail runs along the river, crossing over to become then single.
From here a spectacular stretch (a little 'exposed) above Lake Livigno leads us to the beginning of the second climb of the day. With numerous turns in the woods without too much effort you climb up to Alpe, and then continue on open pastures up to the state border (4km, 400m).
Shortly after, at the junction turn right, in short climb with bends, under the Doss from Termel.
We are at the highest point of the tour, take a break and enjoy the view over the Val Mora, lying in a meadow of edelweiss.
The descent that follows is fun, a bit 'tricky to bottom (almost sandy) and contropendenza. Attention to the gutters, very deep.
After the bridge, continue and then take a right onto a short stretch technician in the woods that leads us on the path to the valley floor.
From here the trail becomes a salt (-) and down (+) very fluid and fun, on a compact and sandy (sometimes technical and exposed), which runs along the river to the apasso of Val Mora.
Here, take the road of going to the lakes Cancano and Solena.
The descent of the Bosco Plan you go over or you can take some cuts in the wood, as the track. Back on the road of the Stelvio, if you still have energy you can follow the trail and take a left towards the foothills (some still climb uphill) and then descend on Bormio off-road, from Baitin of the Magician.
