Nel cuore della Carnia, vi è una catena identificata come Dolomiti Pesarine.
Il monte Talm si trova all'inizio della val Pesarina e costituisce la meta della presente escursione.
Il giro inizia da Prato Carnico ed è breve ma incredibilmente intenso a causa dell'elevata pendenza media che ne caratterizza l'ascesa. La durissima pedalata, lascerà ben pochi istanti per tirare il fiato ma sarà ripagata dallo spettacolo che dalla cima risulta ammirabile, a patto che si scelga una giornata limpida e soleggiata. Dalla sommità è infatti possibile godere di un panorama mozzafiato, che spazia su quasi tutte le montagne principali di questa suggestiva zona.
A parte un piccolo anello che dalla cima si ricongiunge alla mulattiera utilizzata per la salita in corrispondenza del bivio segnalato per la vetta del monte Talm,il ritorno avviene lungo lo stesso percorso dell'andata. Dalla vetta prendiamo single track denominato 226: ad esclusione del primissimo tratto contraddistinto da stretti tornantini un pò esposti, la traccia si rivela quasi subito piacevolemente ciclabile ed anche mediamente veloce.
L'escursione ha una lunghezza di 18 km e un dislivello in salita di 1200m.

In the heart of Carnia, there is a chain identified as Pesarine Dolomites.
Mount TALM is at the beginning of the val Pesarina and is the destination of this hike.
The tour starts from Prato Carnian and is short but incredibly intense due to the high average gradient that characterizes the rise. The harsh ride, leave very few moments to take a breath but will be rewarded by the sight from the top is wonderful, as long as you choose a clear and sunny day. From the summit it is possible to enjoy a breathtaking view that sweeps almost all the major mountains of this picturesque area.
Apart from a small ring from the top rejoins the trail used for the climb at the junction signposted for summit of Mount TALM the back along the same route. From the summit we take single track called 226: with the exception of the very first stretch marked by tight hairpin bends a little exposed, the track proves almost immediately pleasantly path and also fast on average.
The hike has a length of 18 km and a vertical drop in ascent of 1200m.
