Uno stupendo itinerario di discreta lunghezza e non indifferente dislivello.
E' l'ennesima uscita della "banda" di "quelli che...il sabato mattina" che si allontana da Salsomaggiore verso l'alta valle dello Stirone partendo dal lato piacentino della vallata.
Dopo aver percorso il collaudato percorso di cresta che arriva a Cergallina, scendiamo un paio di tornanti verso l'abitato di Borla e ci "infiliamo" nella vallecola creata dal torrente Borla.
Il sentiero dapprima ben largo e relativamente comodo, pian piano si stringe e diventa ripido e insidioso. Piccoli guadi impegnano il biker che sale, ma anche quello che dovesse scendere troppo veloce. I colori sempre più cupi indicano che ci si sta infilando ben dentro la piccola valle.
Il verde intenso e l'umidità sempre presente ci accompagnano fino a quando la valle stessa finisce in una nuova interessante cresta. A questo punto le alternative sono parecchie. Decidiamo di scendere verso il piccolo nucleo abitato di Pozzolo, caratteristico per la sua chiesa addossata ad una grande roccia appena sopra le case. Terre di battaglie della resistenza. Dopo una veloce discesa su asfalto presso l'abitato di Silva ci addentriamo nella omonima riserva di caccia. Il tracciato è scorrevole e simpatico. Si sbuca appena sopra la frazione di Iggio. Con simpatici saliscendi si arriva a guadare il torrente Stirone. e si risale fino alla strada della fondo valle. Nella descrizione esposta nel mio piccolo blog (Via Francigena a ...ruote grasse) a questo punto stanco e in ritardo "costringo" i soci a rientrare percorrendo la fondo valle stessa. Come itinerario però propongo ancora una salita verso Besozzola e poi verso Pietranera. Da qui per simpatica discesa fuori strada si arriva a Case Cavallo e quindi a Ponte Grosso. Si rientra poi per la provinciale Salso-Pellegrino. In tutto sono oltre 50 km e più di 1300 mt di dislivello. Gran bella pedalata decisamente impegnativa (per me)

'Yet another release of the "gang" of "those who ... on Saturday morning," which runs from Salsomaggiore towards the upper valley Stirone starting from the side Piacenza in the valley.
After covering the proven path ridge that reaches Cergallina, go down a couple of hairpin bends to the village of Borla and we will "slip" in the small valley created by the river Borla.
The trail first well wide and relatively comfortable, gradually narrows and becomes steep and treacherous. Small fords undertake the biker going up, but also one that falls too fast. I always darker colors indicate that there is putting on well into the small valley.
The deep green and moisture always accompany us until the valley of the same ends in an exciting new crest. At this point, the alternatives are several. We decide to go to the small village of Pozzolo nucleus, characteristic for its church leaning against a large rock just above the houses. Terre battles of resistance. After a fast descent on asphalt at the hamlet of the same name Silva we enter the game reserve. The track is smooth and nice. It comes out just above the town of Iggio. With cool downs you get to wade the stream Stirone. and climb up to the road of the valley. In the given description in my small blog (Via Francigena in fat wheels ...) at this point tired and late "compel" the members to return along the bottom of the valley itself. How itinerary, however, I propose one more climb to Besozzola and then to Pietranera. From here on out nice downhill road you arrive at Case Horse and then to Ponte Grosso. Then back to the provincial Salty-Pellegrino. In all there are over 50 km and more than 1300 meters in altitude. Great nice ride definitely challenging (for me) From Milan or Bologna
Take the A1 motorway and exit at Fidenza / Salsomaggiore Terme, continue in the direction Fidenza / Fontanellato / Salsomaggiore Terme.
From Brescia and Genoa
From the A21, continue on the A1 until the exit of Fidenza / Salsomaggiore Terme, continue following signs for Fidenza first and then to Salsomaggiore Terme.
From La Spezia < br> Take the Cisa motorway A15, exit Parma Ovest, follow the signs to NOCETO, Fidenza, Salsomaggiore Terme.
From Parma
Take the "Via Emilia" SS 9 following signs for Ponte Taro, walnut, Fidenza, Salsomaggiore Terme.

train From the station of Fidenza (about 9.5 km away from the station in Salsomaggiore), served by line Milano - Bologna take line to Salsomaggiore Terme.
