DESCRIZIONE:dal centro di La Orotava si punta a prendere quota cercando di evitare le ripidissime dritte e lunghe salite ( di certo qui gli alpini avrebbero aggiunto parecchi tornanti ) per fortuna anche se la cartina a nostra disposizione non è delle migliori, " a naso "abbiamo trovato delle stradine comode che ci hanno portato su uno sterrato da favola. Il lato nord dell' isola si rivela con una vegetazione completamente diversa, si pedala in mezzo al verde con piante lussureggianti,le stradine dal fondo quasi sempre molto buono e veloce costeggia il bordo del vulcano mantenendosi attorno quota 1200 mt , solo in un caso la salita si è rivelata tosta ma breve.
Riporto quì sotto una parte del racconto di Renzo:
Le guide locali citano un grande naturalista tedesco che definì la valle de La Orotava, sul versante nord,il più bel paesaggio del mondo.Ci andiamo il terzo giorno.Hanno "dimenticato" di citare l'anno in cui è stata pronunciata questa frase,nel frattempo il cemento ha dilagato alla faccia del naturalista.
Ci lasciamo alle spalle la valle e ,ormai in quota, becchiamo la stadina delle meraviglie.Ce lo conferma Liin,un giovane biker locale che con la sua rigida d'altri tempi,fa un pezzo di strada con noi.
Sul versante nord il clima è più umido, pedaliamo in mezzo alle nuvole, le pareti di roccia sono coperte da un manto lussureggiante di piante (Renato non le conosce tutte,è umano) e tra una foto e un filmato di Denis percorriamo questa forestale che mano a mano che aggira la montagna puntando verso ovest e quindi a sud, ci propone delle variazioni continue ed inaspettate. Panino in squallido bar e poi veloce discesa su asfalto, evidentemente non troppo veloce perchè le tenebre ci sorprendono ancora,fortunatamente da lì non passano i bus (chissà come ci avrebbero "salutato" stasera). DESCRIPTION: from the center of La Orotava is tipped to gain altitude trying to avoid the steep climbs straight and long (certainly here the mountain would have added several twists) luckily though the map at our disposal the best, "nose" of the streets we found comfortable that led us onto a dirt road fairytale. The north side of the 'island is revealed with a completely different vegetation, you ride in the middle of the green with lush plants, the streets from the bottom almost always very good and fast along the rim of the volcano keeping around an altitude of 1200 mt, only in one case the climb proved to be tough but short.

We leave behind the valley and now in altitude, the beaks of stadina meraviglie.Ce confirms LiiN, a young local biker with his stiff of the past, makes a part of the way with us.
On the north side the climate is more humid, we cycle in the clouds, the rock walls are covered by a blanket of lush plants (Renato does not know them all, it is human) and between a photo and a video of Denis we walk this forest hand in hand around the mountain heading towards the west and then south, we propose the continuous variations and unexpected. Bun in seedy bars and then a fast descent on asphalt, apparently not too fast because the darkness still surprise us, fortunately not pass the bus from there (who knows how they would have "welcomed" tonight).
