DESCRIZIONE:
Da Sambuca si lascia subito la SS 64 per stradine secondarie (ind. x Badi) ma ben asfaltate che si addentrano nella valle del T. Treppio. Nei pressi di Treppio il panorama si apre sul sottostante lago di Suviana (150 m più in basso) – (possibile digressione dal paese A+R+ sosta = 1 ora).
Si prosegue ora lungo il corso del Limentra, in falsopiano, toccando minuscole borgate: Lentula, Acqua, Monachino. Poi la strada si fa più ripida e si inoltra nella boscosa riserva naturale di Acquerino- Cantagallo. A q. 880 troveremo una generosa fontana e proseguendo ora su pendenze più miti, arriveremo a scollinare a q. 1100. Si scende poi, sul versante sud del Montelungo fino al Passo della Collina (o della Porretta) q. 930.
NOTA: qui la nuova Porrettana è in galleria, quindi ci passeremo sopra, senza incrociarla.
Nei pressi si può trovare ristoro e, in caso di necessità, tagliare il giro scendendo verso dx (ind. Spedaletto) e poi per la Porrettana, in lieve discesa fino a Sambuca.
Proseguendo invece si affronta il tratto più spettacolare del percorso, quasi interamente sterrato e su panoramiche forestali. Si tagliano i fianchi di boscose collinette (Poggio di Papa, Poggio Moscone, Poggio Faggeta) e nel wp M (q. 1080) si può fare una interessante digressione alla panoramica vetta del monte Pidocchina (q.1296 – Km 2+2 – dislivello 220 m – 30 min + sosta).
Verso Nord/Ovest si gode del panorama sia sulla sottostante valle del Reno che sulle più alte montagne dell’Appenino Tosco-Emiliano (Corno Alle Scale q. 1943 – Monte Cimone q.2165).
Ancora un po’ di Poggi, con andamento altalenante ed infine dopo il bivio per Posola (tenere a dx) e la risalita all’ultimo Poggio (Pruno), la discesa si fa decisa e ripida, terminando sulla Porrettana a q. 550.
Ancora 1,6 Km di tenue discesa e si ritorna a Sambuca Pistoiese.
Dall’autostrada A1 Bologna-Firenze si esce a Sasso Marconi e si prende la SS 64 (Porrrettana); ind. x Marzabotto /Porretta Terme (sono 60 km dall’uscita dell’A1 a Porretta). Dopo Porretta si percorrono ancora 7 km e si arriva a SAMBUCA. In paese si attraversa un ponte (a dx) e si parcheggia nella piazzetta Sandro Pertini (vicino c’è un ottimo ristorante-pizzeria: Le Roggiole).

DESCRIPTION:
From Sambuca will immediately leave the SS 64 for secondary roads (ind. Badi x) but well-paved roads that go through the valley of the T. Treppio. Near Treppio the panorama opens on the lake below Suviana (150 m below) - (possible digression from country A + R + stop = 1 hour).
Continue along the course of the Limentra, on a slight slope, touching tiny villages: Lentula, Water, Monachino. Then the road gets steeper and goes into the wooded nature reserve Acquerino- Cantagallo. A q. 880 will find a generous fountain and continuing on slopes milder now, we get to go downhill in q. 1100 Descend on the south side of the Montelungo to the Passo della Collina (or Porretta) q. 930
NOTE: here is the new Porrettana in the gallery, so we pass over, without cross it.
Nearby you can find refreshment and, if necessary, cut the ride down to the right (ind. Spedaletto) and then for the Porrettana, slightly downhill to Sambuca.
Continuing tackling the most spectacular stretch of the route, almost entirely on dirt roads and scenic forest. Cut the sides of wooded hills (Poggio di Papa, Moscone Poggio, Poggio Faggeta) and M wp (q. 1080) you can make an interesting digression to the panoramic summit of Mount Pidocchina (q.1296 - Km 2 + 2 - difference 220 m - + 30 min break).
To the north / west you can enjoy the panorama of the Rhine valley below is that of the highest mountains of the Apennines Tuscan-Emilian Apennines (Corno Alle Scale q. 1943 - Monte Cimone q.2165 ).
Still a little 'Poggi, with ups and downs, and finally after the junction for Posola (keep right) and the ascent to the last Poggio (Plum), the descent is steep and strong, ending on a Porrettana q. Still
550 Km 1.6 of the small intestine down and back to Pistoia Sambuca.
From the A1 motorway Bologna-Firenze, exit at Sasso Marconi and take the SS 64 (Porrrettana); ind. x Marzabotto / Porretta Terme (60 km from the exit of the A1 are in Porretta). After Porretta proceed for another 7 km and you get to SAMBUCA. In the village you will cross a bridge (right) and park in the square Sandro Pertini (nearby is a great restaurant-pizzeria: The Roggiole).
