Itinerario intorno al Monte Boglia, fra Svizzera e Italia. Si parte da Lugano e si hanno subito due alternative: salire a Brè sulla strada asfaltata o usare il (costoso) trenino di cui trovate gli orari e le tariffe qui:
La traccia GPS indica il treno: con il "Metà prezzo" delle FFS ha un prezzo quasi umano di 14,5 CHF.
Arrivati a Brè si sale all'alpe Bolla, percorso segnalato e che trovate già in altri miei itinerari. Alcune rampe ripide dovranno essere spinte, poi si pedala in una bellissima faggeta con alcuni tratti esposti in cui fare attenzione.
Arrivati all'Alpe Bolla (chiusa in inverno) si sale ancora un po' passando il confine con l'Italia. Subito inizia un bellissimo sentiero che gira attorno al Monte Boglia. Attenzione a seguire bene la traccia una volta che arrivate ad una carrareccia: il sentiero riparte pochi metri più in alto a destra (segnavia biancorosso su un albero) rimanendo in costa, mentre la strada scende ripida.
Proseguendo sul bel sentiero si arriva alla Madonna del Faggio, presso una radura in alto sopra il lago di Lugano. Da qui parte un sentiero a serpentine a picco verso Albogasio. L'ho fatto il 9 novembre 2011, con tante ma non troppe foglie e con il bagnato: con un po' di tecnica si fa tutto in sella. Verso la fine diventa gradinato (vedere foto), compreso il bel passaggio attraverso la pittoresca Albogasio.
Da qui si segue la strada sul lungolago passando la dogana. Arrivati a Gandria si riscende su scalini attraverso il pittoresco paese e si segue la passeggiata lungolago. ATTENZIONE!! Andare SEMPRE adagio, la passeggiata presenta molte curve cieche ed è molto frequentata dai pedoni, anziani come famiglie. Se avete fretta rimanete sulla strada cantonale, la passeggiata va fatta SOLO con calma!
Si arriva a Castagnola e quindi al punto di partenza. Ci sono pochi parcheggi a Lugano, la cosa migliore è parcheggiare allo stadio e poi pedalare fino ai piedi del Monte Brè

Route around Mount Boglia, between Switzerland and Italy. It starts from Lugano and you have suffered two alternatives: go Bre on the road or use the (expensive) train which you can find schedules and prices here:
The GPS track indicates the train: with the " Half price "SBB has an almost human price of 14.5 francs.
Once in Bre climb to Alpe Bolla, marked route and that are already in my other routes. Some steep ramps will have to be pushed, then you ride in a beautiful beech forest with some exposed in watch out for.
Arrive at Alpe Bolla (closed in winter) it goes a little 'passing the border with 'Italy. Now begins a beautiful path that runs around the Mount Boglia. Be careful to follow the right track once you come to a track: the trail starts a few meters in the upper right (white and red trail marker on a tree) remaining in the coast, while the road descends steeply.
Continuing on the beautiful path to get to the Madonna del Faggio, at a clearing high above the lake of Lugano. From here a path to serpentine steeply to Albogasio. I did November 9, 2011, with many but not too many leaves and the wet: with a little 'technique does everything in the saddle. Towards the end it becomes with steps (see photo), including the beautiful passage through the picturesque Albogasio.
From here follow the road along the lake passing through customs. Once in Gandria freewheel down on the steps and through the picturesque village and follow the lakeside promenade. Look out !! ALWAYS go slowly, the walk has many blind curves and is much frequented by pedestrians, the elderly as families. If you hurry you stay on the main road, the walk should be done calmly ONLY!
You get to Castagnola and then to the starting point. There are a few parking lots in Lugano, your best bet is to park at the stadium and then cycle to the foot of Monte Bre
