Eine abwechslungsreiche MTB-Rundtour entlang der Bayerisch - Tschechischen Landesgrenze im Bereich von Eslarn und Schönsee. Zwei unterschiedliche Charakter: auf bayerischer Seite durch Dörfer und Ortschaften, vorbei an Kulturland, mit einem Aussichtsberg und auf tschechischer Seite ein von den Bewohnern verlassenes Naturreservat. Unsere Fahrt im Uhrzeigersinn begann in Eslarn. Erster Fixpunkt war die Anhöhe Teufelsstein. Dann gings durch viel Wald auf Forststraßen über Polster und Lindau bis an den Stadtrand von Schönsee. Dort dann auf und neben der StStr. 2159 bis zu einer Forststraße, die uns nach links bis zur Grenze führte. Dort Besuch des verlassenen Dorfes Bügellohe und weiter auf den Weingartenfels mit dem ca. 25 m hohen Böhmerwaldturm. Umfassende Aussicht über die Baumwipfel. Abfahrt auf den aufgelassenen Skipisten des Liftgebiets Reichenstein und neben der Sommerrodelbahn (verfallen) nach Stadlern und in Schwarzach über die Grenze. Schlagartig ändert sich das Landschaftsbild. Weiter über die Kolchose in Rybnik und auf den Radweg 36 (sehr gut mit gelben Hinweiszeichen ausgeschildert) an der Grenze entlang nach Zelezna (Eisendorf). Überwiegend auf Teerstraßen, teils auf Schotterstraßen geht’s durch ein Gebiet, das bis 1945 dicht besiedelt war. Jetzt sieht man nur noch Mauerreste, der Wald hat alles zurückgeholt. Wetzelsdorf soll eines der größten Dörfer gewesen sein. Laut Karte sind alle Dörfer verfallen: Straßhütte, Rappauf, Hüttenberg, Plöß, Franzelhütte, Stammschleife …… früher Glasindustrie. In Tillyschanz kehrt man nach Bayern zurück und kommt wenig später zum Ausgangspunkt zurück. Bis auf die Abfahrt im „Skizentrum Reichenstein“ sind alle Straßen und Wege bestens zu befahren, nicht überaus steil (bis ca. 15 Prozent). Für die Runde würde auch bis auf den Trail am Reichenstein ein Trekkingrad reichen. Nach GPS: Fahrzeit 4 Stunden, 900 Hm., 50 km

A varied MTB round trip along the Bavarian - Czech border in the area of ??Eslarn and Schonsee. Two different character: on the Bavarian side by villages and towns, past farmland, with a panoramic mountain and on the Czech side of an abandoned by the inhabitants of a nature reserve.
