Monte Beigua Der Monte Beigua liegt ca. 15 km nordöstlich von Savona und fällt schon von weitem mit seinen Antennenanlagen auf. Wir haben am Straßenrand an der Wegkreuzung zwischen Faie und Alpicella geparkt. Zunächst geht es leicht bergab Richtung Alpicella (dort die letzte Bar vor dem Anstieg). Wir zweigen rechts hoch auf die Straße zum Monte Beigua, einer gut ausgebauten Teerstraße, auf der uns etliche einheimische Rennradler überholen und uns zu einem kurzen Nachspurten animieren, das aber bald in einer Kapitulation endet. Nach etwa 13 Kilometern sind wir schließlich 800 Meter höher am Monte Beigua angekommen. Dort gibt es viele Antennen (nicht so schön) und ein Albergo (zwar auch nicht schön, aber das Essen ist eigentlich ganz gut, die Arbeiter, die dort oben alles betreiben, essen auch dort). Die Aussicht ist genial: vorne Meer und Rivieraküste, hinten Mittelgebirge und Hügel. Leider war bei uns das Wetter nicht besonders gut, es schüttete aus Kübeln, wir haben einfach eine Stunde im Albergo gegessen, dann war der Regen vorbei. Gestärkt geht es nun bergab zum Rifugio Pratorotondo, auch da könnte man was essen, wir fahren aber rechts weiter auf das Almgelände, jetzt beginnt mit dem Schotterweg der eigentlich schönste Abschnitt. Anfangs noch gut ausgebaut schlängelt sich der Weg immer schlechter werdend den Hang hinunter in den Wald. Man ist nicht allein, Kühe (und Stiere, da wird man vorsichtig...) säumen den Weg. Man kann es aber richtig schön rollen lassen, überquert immer wieder (meist trockene) Bachläufe und erreicht schließlich den Weiler Faie und die Straßenkreuzung, wo man gestartet ist.

We parked on the roadside at the crossroads between Faie and Alpicella. First, it goes slightly downhill direction Alpicella (where the last bar before the rise). We turn right up the road to Monte Beigua, a well-maintained paved road on which we overtake some local racing cyclists and animate us a short Nachspurten, but that soon ends in a capitulation. After about 13 kilometers we finally arrived 800 meters higher at the Monte Beigua. There are many antennas (not so nice) and a Albergo (though not beautiful, but the food is actually quite good, the workers who operate everything up there, eat there, too). The view is awesome: Front sea and Riviera coast, behind low mountains and hills. Unfortunately for us the weather was not particularly good, it poured, we have just eaten an hour in the Albergo, then the rain was over. Strengthened it's now down to Rifugio Pratorotondo, also because you could eat, but we stay right on the alpine pastures, now begins with the gravel of the actually most beautiful section. Initially well developed, the trail winds becoming worse and worse down the slope into the forest. You are not alone, cows (and bulls, as it is carefully ...) along the way. It can however be really nice roll, crosses (usually dry) river runs again and again and finally reaches the hamlet Faie and the road junction where you started.
