Start dieser Tour war am Parkplatz oberhalb des Diabetes Zentrums in Bad Lauterberg. Von hier aus über die Fußgängerbrücke über die Oder durch die Ortsmitte Richtung Kummelstraße - den Wirtschaftsweg bis zum Bismarckturm hinauf. Nachdem man sich im dortigen Restaurant hat verwöhnen lassen, geht es wieder ca. 300 m zurück bis zu der Kreuzung, die man zuvor von rechts kommend befuhr. Hier links und nach ca. 50 m rechts dem Weg Richtung "Dicker Forstmann" (Ahorn) folgen. Bis zur Schutzhütte an dem alten Ahornbaum geht es, teils sehr steil, immer geradeaus. Von hier aus dann weiter bergab bis man rechter Hand auf einen gut ausgebauten Forstweg trifft. Hier links halten, an der nächsten Kreuzung rechts Richtung Koboltstaler Köpfe. Nach ca. 10,4 km auf einer großen Kreuzung nach links und dort dem Weg Richtung Aschentalshalbe folgen. Dort nach ca. 12,5 km und einem kurzen Downhill hat man dann dank Windbruchs herrlichen Ausblick gen Norden. Von hier aus dem Höhenweg weiter folgen, der sich rechts des Bergrückens Richtung Westen zieht, bis links ein Weg namens "Fastweg" abzweigt. Diesem über die Bergkuppe folgen, sich dann über einen kurzen Downhill freuen, um sich dann anschließend zum großen Knollen hochzukämpfen. Im dortigen Gasthaus kann man sich dann mit einem Weizenbier belohnen. Richtung Bad Lauterberg führt ein Singletrail bergab ins Luttertal, der jedem Mountainbiker das breiteste Grinsen ins Gesicht zaubert. Nun kommt natürlich der Aufruf zur Rücksicht, der nach den vorangegangenen Zeilen keinesfalls Fehlen darf. Hierzu eine mehrfach wiederholte Beaobachtung: Alle Wanderer, die mir auf den Trails im Harz begegneten, waren immer(!) freundlich, hatten oft gute Hinweise zum weiteren Streckenverlauf, auf jeden Fall aber ein paar nette Worte übrig. Gerne möchte ich hier zu einem Erhalt dieses herzlichen Verhältnisses zwischen Mountainbikern und Wanderern im Harz aufrufen.

Start this tour was at the parking lot above the Diabetes Center in Bad Lauterberg. From here, cross the pedestrian bridge over the Oder through the town center direction Kummelstraße - the farm track up to the Bismarck tower. Direction Bad Lauterberg a single trail leads downhill into Luttertal that conjures the widest smile on your face every mountain biker.
