Anspruchsvolle Tour mit einigen Höhenmetern, Singletrails, imposanten Wasserkraftwerken und phantastischem Alpenpanorama Diese Tour ist anspruchsvoll, bietet aber dafür einige Leckerbissen. Los geht es in Bad Säckingen am Waldrand. Zunächst geht es über einen Waldweg zum idyllisch gelegenen Bergsee oberhalb der Stadt. Am See(chen) entlang geht es dann kurze Zeit auf Asphalt bis rechts ein Wegweiser des Schwarzwaldvereins den schmalen Pfad zum Röthekopf markiert. Hier ist erstmals fahrtechnisches Können gefragt. Der Anstieg zum Röthekopf ist nicht lang, aber durchaus heftig. Oben angekommen bietet sich ein erster toller Ausblick über das Hochrheintal in die Schweiz. Weiter geht es nun in die Höhe. Kurz bevor der obere Schöpfebach erreicht ist (man hört den Bach lautstark rauschen) geht es scharf links weiter nach oben. Auch hier wieder ist Fahrtechnik gefragt. Man gelangt so auf die Strasse von Bad Säckingen nach Jungholz und überquert diese. Weiter geht es zum Kellerlefelsen. Im nächsten Abschnitt ist ein Bach zu überqueren, was kaum ohne Absteigen möglich sein dürfte und danach ein steiler Abstieg zum Horizontalweg oberhalb der Stadt Wehr. Nun geht es recht gemütlich bis die L155 erreicht und überquert wird. Kurz darauf muss nochmals eine Strasse gequert werden (k6535), ehe es rasant aber auf gut fahrbarem Weg ins Tal runter geht. Fast unten angekommen, steigt der Weg nun wieder an in Richtung Fischgraben. Dieser (Bach) wird schliesslich überquert und schon geht es wieder etwas bergab. Man folgt nun dem Wanderweg zum Wehra-Stausee. Dabei passiert man einen knackigen Singletrail mit mehreren Haarnadelkehren und landet unten am Stausee. Der Stausee bildet das Unterwasser des grössten deutschen Pumpspeicherkraftwerks. Dessen Turbinen und Pumpen befinden sich in einer riesigen Kaverne mitten im Berg. Die nächste Etappe der Route führt zum Oberwasser dieser Anlage - dem Hornbergbecken. Es geht nun für einige Zeit steil bergauf auf dem Ehwaldweg. Unterwegs bietet sich von der Felsenhütte ein toller Ausblick in die tief eingeschnittene Wehraschlucht. Der Weg führt sogar durch einen kurzen Tunnel. Der Lohn der Anstrengung ist das Erreichen der Ortschaft Hornberg, wo man bei entsprechender Wetterlage bereits die Alpen in der Ferne sehen kann. Auch, wenn es anstrengt, sollte man sich das Ausruhen aber für den Aussichtspunkt auf der Dammkrone des Hornbergbeckens sparen. Von dort hat man eine grandiose Rundsicht über den gesamten Hotzenwald und in der Ferne ist die Alpenkette zu sehen - bei Fönwetterlage zum Greifen nahe. Ab jetzt geht es primär einmal bergab. Zunächst oberhalb von Herrischried bis in die Gemeinde Niedergebisbach. Von dort dann bis zur L151, die überquert wird. Anschliessend kommt ein prächtiger Singletrail runter ins Murgtal zum Energiemuseum von Hottingen. Durch Hottingen durch geht es dann weiter das wunderschöne Murgtal hinab bis zum Strahlbrusch-Wasserfall. Von hier aus geht es wieder hoch bis zum Kühmoos - der Energieleitstelle des Kraftwerkes. Kurz darauf wird der Einstieg zum letzten Single-Trail entlang des Schöpfebachs erreicht. Es geht nun rasant bergab bis man wieder am Bergsee ankommt. Von dort ist man dann in wenigen Minuten zurück am Ausgangspunkt.

Demanding tour with some elevations, single trails, imposing hydroelectric power plants and fantastic Alpine panorama This tour is challenging, but offers some tidbits. It starts in Bad Säckingen on the edge. First, it goes through a forest trail to the idyllic mountain lake above the town. Lakeside (chen) along it's then a short time on asphalt to right a signpost of the Black Forest Association the narrow path to Röthekopf marked. Here driving skills is required for the first time. The increase for Röthekopf is not long, but quite violently. Once at the top you can enjoy a great view over the first Hochrheintal in Switzerland. It continues now in the height. Just before the top Schöpfebach is reached (you can hear the creek rushing loudly) it goes sharp left further up. Again, techniques are called. Thus arriving to the streets of Bad Säckingen Jung wood and crossing it. Continue to Kellerlefelsen. The next section is a stream to cross, which should be possible without getting hardly and then a steep descent to the horizontal path above the town weir. Now it is quite comfortable to the L155 reaches and is crossed. & Nbsp; Shortly thereafter, a road must be crossed (k6535), before it rapidly but goes on well moveable way down into the valley again. Almost reached the bottom, the path now rises again towards fish ditch. This (stream) is crossed finally and then it goes back a bit downhill. Now follow the trail to Wehra reservoir. In this case, you pass a crisp single trail with several hairpin bends and lands below the reservoir. The dam forms the lower waters of the largest German pumped storage power plant. Meanwhile, turbines and pumps are located in a huge cavern in the middle of the mountain. The next leg of the route leading to the upper waters of this system - the Hornberg reservoir. It's now time for some steep uphill on the Ehwaldweg. En route from the rock hut a great view into the deeply incised Wehraschlucht. The way even through a short tunnel. The reward of the effort is to reach the village of Hornberg, where if the weather already can see the Alps in the distance. From here, it goes back up to Kühmoos - the energy control center of the power plant. Shortly afterwards, the entrance to the last single trail along the Schöpfebachs is achieved. It is now rapidly downhill until one arrives back at the mountain lake. From there you are then in a few minutes back at the starting point.
