Die Tour startet beim Bahnhof in Engelberg. Es geht über die asphaltierte Strasse bis zur Schwand. Von da an fängt der schöne Teil ohne Autos an. Die Strecke via Wand zur Walenalp ist zwischendurch recht steil aber immer gut zu fahren. Auf der Walenalp angelangt gibt einem die wunderbare Aussicht auf das Engelbergertal bis nach Stans einen guten Grund dass man die Tour immer wieder mal fahren muss. Die Abfahrt nach Grafenort ist sehr hart, oft muss man kurz absteigen. Es empfiehlt sich die Strecke nach Regenfällen zu meiden weil Passagen im Wald recht schlammig werden können. Ich bin mir nicht sicher was anstrengender war, der Aufstieg oder der Downhill!!? Auf jeden Fall hat die Tour landschaftlich allerhand zu bieten. Die Fahrt von Obermatt nach Engelberg kann man auch mit dem Zug machen. (Zur zeit ist der Wanderweg noch gesperrt und auf der Hauptstrasse tut man sich wirklich keine Gefallen wenn man dort hochfährt!). Weiter kann man die Tour mit der Brunnihütte oder Banalp kombinieren. Wobei letztere konditionell wie auch technisch hohe Anforderungen stellt. Bitte beachten, das Höhenprofil stimmt nicht ganz weil ich die Tour am PC noch optimert habe und desshalb die Höhendaten neu via SRTM Daten vom Internet gelesen wurden! Die gefahrene Höhe bergauf beträgt ca. 850 Meter!! Wird die Strecke Obermatt-Engelberg ebenfalls mit dem Bike gefahren kommen von ca . 380 Höhenmeter dazu

The tour starts at the train station in Engelberg. It goes beyond the paved road to the Schwandlift. From then on, the beautiful part starts without cars. The distance from a wall to Walenalp in between is quite steep but always good to drive. Once on the Walenalp gives you the wonderful view of the valley of Engelberg up to Stans is a good reason that you have the tour to travel often times. The descent to Grafenort is very hard, often you have to stay short. It is advisable to avoid the route after rains because passages can be quite muddy in the forest. I'm sure that was not strenuous, the climb or downhill !!? In any case, the scenic tour has a lot to offer. The ride from Upper Matt to Engelberg can do with the train. (For time, the trail is still closed and the main road is really doing you no favors when there is booting). Next, you can combine the tour with the Brunnihütte or Banalp. The latter is conditional and technically demanding. Please note the height profile is not entirely true because I have the Tour on PC yet optimert one and the half-height data were reread via SRTM data from the web!
