In der Umgebung des Zeller Sees ist die Hundsteintour unserer Meinung nach eine der schönsten Strecken. Bis auf das letzte Stückerl technisch einfach, konditionell jedoch eher anspruchsvoll. Wir beginnen die Runde in Zell am See beim Postamt. Runter zum See, entlang dem Nordufer bis nach Thumersbach, wo die eigentliche Tour beginnt. Alternativ könnt Ihr natürlich auch hier starten. In Thumersbach geht’s auf der großen Kreuzung nach links und gleich wieder nach rechts. Jetzt beginnt der fast ununterbrochene Anstieg von 780m auf 2117m. Auf Forststraßen geht's vorbei an der Enzianhütte Richtung Moosalm und Hundstein. Das letzte Stück ist Singletrail, von dem die ersten 250m gut fahrbar sind. Die letzten 700m bis zum Statzerhaus sind technisch und konditionell anspruchsvoll bzw. zu schieben. Vorsicht: links geht’s ziemlich steil bergab und evtl. vorhandene Schneefelder sind auch nicht ungefährlich zu überqueren. Leider haben wir es bis jetzt noch nicht geschafft, am Statzerhaus eine Suppe zu bekommen, vielleicht habt Ihr mehr Glück. Früher aufstehen wäre sicher eine Lösung. Die Forststraßen-Abfahrt nach Maria Alm ist leider weniger ansprechend als die Auffahrt. Vielleicht findet ja jemand eine nettere Variante. Von Maria Alm geht’s dann auf Asphalt über Almdorf und Gerling zurück nach Thumersbach. Wer Badesachen mitgenommen hat, kann jetzt noch im frei zugänglichen Strandbad am Nordufer entspannen. Die Tour kann übrigens auch problemlos in die umgekehrte Richtung gefahren werden.
In the vicinity of Lake Zell is the Hundstein tour our opinion one of the most beautiful stretches. Except for the last little piece technically simple, conditional, however, rather challenging. We start the round in Zell am See at the post office. Down to the lake, along the northern shore to Thumserbach where the actual tour begins. Alternatively you can of course also start here. In Thumserbach is & # 8217; s on the big crossing turn left and right again. Now the almost uninterrupted rise from 780m to 2117m begins. On forest roads you will pass the Enzianhütte direction Moosalm and Hundstein. The last piece is single track, of which the first 250m are driveable. The last 700m to Statzerhaus are technically and physically demanding or pushing. Caution: left is & # 8217;'s pretty steep downhill and any existing snowfields are also not safe to cross. Unfortunately, we have not managed so far to get a soup on Statzerhaus, maybe you have more luck. Getting up earlier would certainly be a solution. The forest road descent to Maria Alm is unfortunately less appealing than the driveway. Maybe someone will find a nicer version. Maria Alm is & # 8217; s then asphalt over alpine village and Gerling back to Thumserbach. Who has taken swimsuit, can now relax even in the freely accessible beach on the north shore. The tour can incidentally also be easily moved in the opposite direction.
