Battisti Straße weiter Richtung Norden fahren. Nach dem Dorfplatz rechts in die 24. Mai Straße. Dann rechts und an der Gabelung links in die Katzensteinstraße. Man quert die SP8 und fährt nun immer geradeaus bergauf bis zum Kreisverkehr. Jetzt in die Laberserstraße beim Schloss Ramnitz. Nach Bergauffahrt an der Kreuzung links Richtung Ötzerhof. Oberhalb des Kiendlhofs rechts auf die Privatstraße. Dann links auf dem 2er den steilen Steinweg hoch. Am Waldrand links und die beginnende Forststraße bis zur Straße. Diese weiter bergauf. Es kommt bald die Bushaltestelle Laberser 2 (siehe Hinweise). Nun erwarten einen 4,5km des Grauens. Bei regem Auto- und LKW-Verkehr und schlecht befahrbaren Straßenrand kämpft man sich bis Hafling hoch. Man muss dabei auch 3 Tunnels durchfahren, welche zwar beleuchtet sind und einen erhöhten Randstreifen haben, der aber an einigen Stellen sehr schmal ist und keinen Schlenker erlaubt. Direkt nach dem 3. Tunnel kommt die erlösende Abzweigung zur St. Kathrein Kirche. Gleich beim Reitstall rechts bergauf und oberhalb vom Sulfner vorbei dem Forstweg folgen. Sobald es bergab geht vor der nächsten Kurve rechts auf den erkennbaren Waldweg. Nach dem Scheitelpunkt links auf den Reitpfad. Jetzt immer eher rechts halten. So erreichen wir ohne viel Höhenverlust den 50er Wandersteig. Er führt uns, leider wieder kurz bergab zu einem Schotterweg, den wir nach nach Norden weiterfahren. Im Wald zweimal rechts, um das eingezäunten Privatgelände herum und auf dem Schotterweg weiter bis zur Straße. Auf der Straße gleich wieder links auf den steilen Betonweg, direkt an den Gebäuden vorbei und dann die Teerstraße weiter. An der Verzweigung links auf den 50B bleiben und dann vor dem Haus rechts auf dem Richtung 50B. Am Straßenende durch das Gatter auf dem 50B weiter bergauf über das Wiesengelände. Der Karrenweg ist zwar steil, lässt sich aber gut fahren. Er schneidet zweimal die Straße. Man kann sich also mehrfach entscheiden, auf Straße bis nach Falzeben zu fahren. Spätestens in Falzeben endet der 50B am großen Parkplatz. Von Falzeben gehts an der Seilbahn vorbei weiter auf einem Schotterweg bergauf. Schon an der Zuegghütte (Einkehrmöglichkeit) vorbei, zweigt man in Sichtweite des Giebels der Rotwandhütte (Einkehrmöglichkeit) links bergauf ab. Wer sich bis jetzt noch nicht zur Einkehr entschieden hat sollte wissen, dass die weitere Fahrt zur Kesselberghütte noch zeitraubend und anstrengend ist. In der Nähe der Bergstation am Pfiffinger Köpfl mündet man in eine weitere Forststraße und fährt diese nach rechts weiter. An der nächsten Verzweigung den mittleren, schmäleren 3er nehmen. Auf diesem, gut angelegten Steig bleiben wir jetzt bis zur Kesselberghütte. Er lässt sich fast komplett fahren, allerdings muss man dabei ein paar steile Rampen bewältigen. So nebenbei bietet er noch ständig eine gute Aussicht. Nach dem Missensteiner Joch ist der Weg teilweise sehr ausgewaschen. Je nach Spurwahl muss man hier ein paar Meter schieben bis man die Kesselberghütte endlich erreicht (Einkehrmöglichkeit). Von der Hütte weiter auf dem eingeschlagenen Weg bleiben. Schon von weitem gut sichtbar geht er am steilen Hang entlang weiter bergauf. Am Scheitelpunkt rechts bergab bis zur Mittagerhütte (Einkehrmöglichkeit). Geradeaus an der Mittagerhütte vorbei auf dem 13er bergab (S2) bis zur Meraner Hütte (Einkehrmöglichkeit). Vor der Meraner Hütte kurz links und gleich rechts auf den 13A Richtung Moschwaldalm (S1). Nach dem Steg muss man ein Stück bergauf schieben. Ab dem Wiesengelände kann man wieder in den Sattel steigen und gegenüber den Karrenweg bergab fahren. Am Forstweg nach links weiter. Bei der Abfahrt links auf dem 17A wechseln. Dieser Steig lässt sich mehr schlecht als recht fahren. Der erste Teil ist sehr wurzelig ohne ausreichendes Gefälle, der zweite sumpfig und vom Fleckvieh zertreten. Aber der Steig führt uns direkt aber zur Maiser Alm (Einkehrmöglichkeit). Ab hier werden unsere Erwartungen bezüglich Trails wieder erfüllt. Wir schieben direkt zwischen Alm und Stall hindurch auf den alten Almsteig 15A (S2-). Ein Supertrail mit man flowigen, mal kniffligen Stellen beginnt. Am Forstweg diesen kurz bergab und geradeaus über die Wiese wieder auf dem 15A weiter. Nach Querung des Forstwegs wird der Trail immer anspruchsvoller (S3). Je nach Fahrkönnen muss man stellenweise absteigen und das Trailende ist wohl nur Trailkünstler geeignet (S4). Wir fahren den Schotterweg am Sinichbach weiter bergab und halten dann rechts über die Brücke auf die Teerstraße. Nach kurzer Bergauffahrt gehts es wieder bergab bis zur Straße nach Falzeben. Wir bleiben kurz auf ihr bergauf, lenken aber in der Kehre geradeaus auf den Parkplatz beim Touristikamt und auf die weiterführende, für Auto gesperrte Straße. Sie Führt uns wieder zur St. Kathrein Kirche. Man fährt an der Kirche vorbei und wechselt dann links auf den 2er (S3). An der nächsten Verzweigung rechts den 2B wählen und bald direkt an der Auffahrtsstraße vorbei. Nach ein paar tollen Trailelementen gelangt man auf einen Schotterweg und biegen bei der Abfahrt links auf den Weg Richtung Greiterhof ab. Zu Beginn geht etwas steil, aber fahrbar bergauf. Darauf wird es aber wieder schon trailig (S1). Nach Abfahrt zur alten Betonbrücke weiter bergauf bis zur Straße. Diese links bergauf und oberhalb vom Greiterhof (Einkehrmöglichkeit) vorbei auf dem Forstweg bleiben. Nach dem Tor mit Gatterl noch ein Stück bergauf und dann rechts bergab auf den Steig mit der alten Beschilderung Richtung Fragsburg (S1+). Ein weiterer Supertrail erwartet uns. Am Ende bei Fragsburg die Teerstraße nach links bergab (oder alternativ ein Abstecher zum Wasserfall). Nach der zweiten Rechtskehre links auf den Feldweg wechseln. Er kürzt unsere Abfahrt wesentlich ab. Sobald der Weg wieder auf eine Teerstraße trifft, fahren wir diese nach links bergauf. Nach kurzer Fahrt rechts auf den Steig Richtung Sinich wechseln. Er führt uns wieder zum Sinichbach. Nach der Bachbrücke müssen wir kurz bergauf schieben. Aber bald lässt die Steigung wieder ein Fahren zu. Man gelangt an einen Forstweg und fährt rechts bergab bis zum Mitterwalder (Einkehrmöglichkeit). Vor dem Tor des Restaurant links auf den Schotterweg und bald links auf den zugewachsenen Steig wechseln. Weiter geradeaus auf dem Steig (S2) gen Tal. Man erreicht den Graf Volkmar Weg und fährt rechts bergab bis zur Straße. Die Straße nach rechts weiter bis ins Industriegebiet von Sinich. Die nächst mögliche Straße nach dem Kreisverkehr rechts rein und ihr folgen. Nach dem kurzen Einbahnstück rechts und der Linkskurve bis zum Parkplatz in der C. Battisti Straße folgen. Varianten Bei der Auffahrt von St. Kathrein nach Falzeben die Straße verwenden. Wenn man von der Straßenauffahrt nach Hafling noch nicht genug hat, erspart man sich dabei vielleicht ein paar Körner. Dazu nach dem 3. Tunnel nicht links nach St. Kathrein, sondern geradeaus weiter und bei der nächsten Verzweigung links auf auf dieser Straße bis nach Falzeben hoch. Man kann die Tour auch ein wenig verkleinern, indem man nicht in die höchste Etage fährt und Kesselbergscharte und Mittagerhütte auslässt. Dazu fahren wir vor der Rotwandhütte nicht links bergauf, sondern an der Rotwandhütte vorbei direkt zur Meraner Hütte. Vermeidung des Schiebestücks und des schlecht fahrbaren 17A vor der Maiser Alm. Dazu nach der Meraner Hütte geradeaus auf dem Forstweg bleiben und dann rechts auf dem 4er weiter. Dieser Bergauftrail lässt sich fast komplett fahren. Nach Abfahrt zum Kreuzjöchl nochmal die schöne Aussicht geniessen und dann rechts den Schotterweg bergab bis zur Maiser Alm. Direkt Abfahrt von St. Kathrein ohne die durch kleinen Umwege erreichbaren Fragsburg- und Sinich-Trails. Dazu auf dem 2B bleiben und nicht links zum Greiterhof abzweigen. Der 2B führt bis zum Naifbach, dann links zum Schloß Labers und zurück zum Kreisverkehr beim Schloss Ramnitz. Auf Anfahrtsweg gehts dann zurück zum Ausgangspunkt. Die Tour von Hafling fahren. Man erspart sich die Auffahrt über die Straße lässt aber dabei schöne Trails weg. Hinweise Der Vermutstropfen dieser Tour ist die Auffahrt nach Hafling. Leider gibt es keine fahrbare Alternative. Halbstündiges Hochtragen auf dem steilen 2er vom Greiterhof weg ist nicht zu empfehlen. Man muss also in den sauren Apfel beißen. Der Straßenrand ist schlecht zu befahren. Es befindet sich dort durchgehend eine Regenrinne mit kleinem Absatz zur Teerdecke. Die Fahrzeuglenker halten bei Gegenverkehr oft keinen ausreichenden Sicherheitsabstand um ihren Schwung nicht zu verlieren. Die 3 Tunnel sind beleuchtet und haben einen erhöhten Randstreifen. Man sollte tunlichst nur auf diesem fahren. Allerdings ist er an einigen Stellen sehr schmal. Größere Schlenker sind nicht drin, da man sonst entweder über den Randstein gelangt oder die Tunnelwand touchiert. Wenn man es zeitlich richtig plant, wäre möglich den Bus zu nehmen (Linie 225, fährt stündlich). Es ist nur eine Station von Laberser 2 bis St. Kathrein. Aber die Busse sind vormittags propenvoll und das Bike muss zerlegt und unfixiert in die Gepäckschächte unter dem Fahrgastraum. Falls der Busfahrer überhaupt mitspielt funktioniert das nur für ein oder zwei Leute. Sagt der Wetterbericht Quellwolkenbildung voraus, sollte man lieber eine andere Tour planen. Über Meran 2000 bilden sich die Wolken ziemlich schnell und wird kalt und regnet dann oft.
