Arrivati a Monterotondo si costeggia l'edificio dell'USL fino ad arrivare al primo Waypoint dove è stata installata una sbarra automatica per evitare l'accesso, ma lateralmente c'è uno spazio dove ci passa tranquillamente una bici. Da qui inizia il nostro sentiero per la Casa Comune Pian di Rota, una bella pietraia nel bosco a tratti molto ripida. La pedalata non sempre risulta agevole. Arrivati nei pressi della comune occorre fare una piccola deviazione per evitare di incontrare i cani che non sempre si sono rivelati amichevoli. Il secondo Weypoint indica il punto dove, sulla nostra destra, bici in spalla, occorre salire per raggiungere il sentiero superiore che ci farà oltrepassare la Comune senza infastidire troppo gli amici canidi. Una volta rimontati in sella il nostro percorso continua verso sinistra in direzione Castellaccio. Andando verso destra invece in pochi tornanti si guadagna l'asfalto.Arrivati al bivio proseguiamo in salita verso destra fino a raggiungere la cima del Castellccio, poi di qui sull'asfalto fino all'ingresso del sentiero che conduce giù al mare da fare tutta d'un fiato.
