Punto di partenza: Barbarano Romano Distanza da Roma : 70 km Lunghezza: 26 km Dislivello totale: 400 m Quota massima: 350 mslm Tempo in sella: 1h 50m Sterrato: 85 %Come arrivare Barbarano Romano si trova a circa 70 chilometri a nord di Roma. E' facilmente raggiungibile percorrendo la via Cassia in direzione di Viterbo. Oltrepassata Capranica, al km 59,9 girare a sinistra sulla via braccianese . Dopo 6 km si supera un ponticello sopra la ex ferrovia in prossimità della vecchia stazione di Vejano. Subito dopo girare a destra in direzione di Barbarano - Monte RomanoDescrizione percorso Km 0,0 345 mslm Prima di entrare in paese sulla sinistra si incontra il cimitero, qui si può lasciare la macchina ed iniziare a percorrere lo stradello asfaltato verso sud Km 0,8 350 mslm Si passa sotto alla ex ferrovia e subito dopo si incontra un cancello in legno che indica l'ingresso al parco suburbano di Marturanum. Si prosegue su ottimo fondo sterrato Km 1,1 340 mslm Al primo bivio proseguire in discesa seguendo l'indicazione "valle fragola" Km 1,5 309 mslm Superato il ponticello si prosegue sulla destra Km 4,3 212 mslm Superati alcuni saliscendi una ripida discesa ci porta sul fondo della valle. In corrispondenza del bivio si gira a sinistra Km 5,3 245 mslm Un altro cancello in legno segnala che stiamo uscendo dal territorio del parco. Proseguiamo in discesa verso Civitella Cesi Km 6,7 192 mslm In corrispondenza di una cabina Enel sulla sinistra, all'altezza del cimitero, giriamo a destra su asfalto verso il caratteristico borgo di Civitella Cesi. Qui si incrocia l'itinerario 1 "Tolfa Nord" proveniente da Rota Km 7,7 157 mslm Dopo il paese la strada prosegue in discesa con un paio di tornanti fino al fondo del vallone. In corrispondenza dell'incrocio giriamo a sinistra risalendo il lungo il vallone per circa 800 m Km 8,5 167 mslm All'altezza di un campetto sportivo si gira a destra su di un caratteristico ponticello imboccando la strada in salita Km 8,9 184 mslm Si lascia la salita girando a destra su buon fondo battuto in direzione "camporegio" proseguendo con lievi saliscendi per circa 3 km Km 11,7 170 mslm In corrispondenza di un quadrivio si piega a destra in discesa lungo uno stretto viottolo verso il fondo del vallone. Dopo intense piogge il fango può rendere impraticabile la discesa Km 12,2 145 mslm Nella ricognizione di maggio'05 l'ultimo tratto del viottolo risulta impraticabile per l'erosione dell'acqua che lo ha inciso profondamente. Prima della discesa in vista del torrente conviene prendere il sentierino che si stacca sulla destra ed aggirare il tratto più scosceso Km 12,3 128 mslm Si guada il torrente Vesca ed anche per i più abili non è facile compiere l'intero attraversamento senza mettere un piede in acqua! Si prosegue per 500 m lungo la sterrata dal fondo sassoso -200 m da fare a piedi - che risale di fronte fino alle rovine del castello di S.Giovenale ed alla necropoli etrusca di Casale Vignola. Molto interessante la visita delle varie tombe Km 12,9 159 mslm Superata l'area archeologica si incrocia una stradina, asfaltata verso destra. Noi proseguiamo a sinistra sulla sterrata in salita Km 15,0 170 mslm Al bivio girare a destra su buona sterrata in leggera salita. A sinistra prosegue invece l'itinerario 1 "Tolfa Nord" Km 16,0 188 mslm Oltrepassato un casale diroccato sulla sinistra la sterrata incrocia il tracciato della ex ferrovia, sbarrato da blocchi di cemento. Imbocchiamo a destra in leggera salita proseguendo per circa 10 km su ottimo fondo ed incontrando le stazioni di Civitella, Blera e Barbarano. L'unica difficoltà è rappresentata dai numerosi sbarramenti che costringono a scendere dalla bici. Km 25,4 355 mslm 1 km dopo la stazione di Barbarano lasciare la ferrovia e prendere la sterrata sulla destra Km 25,7 350 mslm In corrispondenza dell'ingresso del parco ritroviamo la strada percorsa all'andata che passa sotto la ferrovia e ci ripo

Here it crosses Route 1 "Tolfa Nord" from Rota 7,7 157 masl After the village the road goes downhill with a few switchbacks down to the valley bottom.
