Trail Description

We toured around Heidelberg in the morning.  Then we went back to the hostel to collect our luggage and carried on our trip.  I was quite obsessed with riding along River Rhein because the idea sounds "romantic."   I imaged there to be full of historical relics.  So I chose the quickest path to get to the river.  When we got to Speyer, we realized that this session of the river was quite industrialized.  There were plenty of chimneys and power plants alone the way.  We planned to ride to Karlsruhe today.  It was a bit late when we arrived in Germersheim.  There was a sign of a camping site on the map.  When we got there, we found that it was actually an abandoned  site.  After a vain attemp to  looking for another one,  we decided to camped at the abandoned one since there were a few campers at the site as well.At midnight, we were suddenly wakened up by bangs of jerking the plastic chairs next to our tent, followed by lound and rough voices from some drunken males and loud music from stereo.  I estimated there were four to five drunken men talking and drinking next to us.  We were scared to death.  I didn't dare to crawl out and asked them to low down their voices.  Though I couldn't speak German, I could catch the word "jews" many times in their conversation.   Luckily they left after an hour or so.  Photos: See all pictures and videos from Heidelberg to Germersheim
