Trail Description

We startet at "Grand Mediterraneo Hotel and Spa" and got DOWN to Ermones. For me one of the most important things to carry with was a camcorder due to the fascinating views you can see. ( That´s the reason for the really slow tour) The first waypoint ist next to Vatos and head forward to Pelekas. You can also make a short trip to the old church from the 13th (?) century - I think i remember Ionnis Georgios - but im not sure.  The first  part of the trip ist most of the time a quite well built street and so you reach the waypoint to Pelekas or Glyfada. Glyfada beach is also a possibillity to visit but the street ist really in full sunshine during the day -  but there should be one of the few cash machines in this part of the island (though i haven´t visited the cash-machine....only the beach... but that was a different trip.) Now head forward to Pelekas. the street climbs slowly up the hill and it should not be a problem to reach Pelekas. Directly in the "city" of Pelekas there is on left-hand side the way up to Kaiser´s Throne with a marvellous view around Corfu. Here you can see both coasts of the Island. After leaving the Throne an back to Pelekas there´s a bakery with LOTS of sweets... and the possibility to buy some more water ;-). We rided throug the village on the other side and got down to the main street ( there´s also a off oad way to the main street) and decided to follow to Kerkyra ( Corfu City). I would not recommend to go directliy to Kerkyra like the map shows ´caus the the last part of the raod is really high traffic. We turned back and turned to Afra. We followed the road back to Ermones via direction Waterland and re-reached the Hotel three hours and many "foto-stops".
Dont´t forget.... the H in Hotel stands for Hill ;-)
