Die Tour wird in der offiziellen Bike-Literatur der Südtiroler Tourismusämter beschrieben. Sie verläuft nach der Anfahrt auf einer Nebenstraße bergauf auf gut ausgebauten Forst- und Wirtschaftswegen, die insbesondere um den Ort Planeil mit kurzen steileren Rampen aufwarten. Von der Planeilalm führt schließlich ein sehr schöner Trail (teilweise schmal und etwas steil aber ohne größere Hindernisse) durch das Almgelände zurück nach Planeil. Wir starten die Tour in Mals im oberen Vinschgau. Den Ort verlassen wir auf einer Nebenstraße in Richtung Ulten/Planeil. Ihr folgen wir, bis sie ca. bei km 3,3 den Waldrand verlässt und nach links über die Wiesen nach Ulten schwenkt. Wir biegen stattdessen nach rechts auf einen Forstweg in Richtung Planeil ein (Wanderweg Nr. 15). Nach etwa 240 hm erreichen wir den Ort, der wie ein Vogelnest am Hang zu kleben scheint. Das beschauliche Ortsbild lässt heute nicht mehr erahnen, dass große Teile von Planeil in den 1980er Jahren durch zwei Brände zerstört wurden. Wir passieren den Ortskern (am Parkplatz rechts halten) und folgen dem Wirtschaftsweg (Wanderweg Nr. 6) ins Planeiler Tal. Auf ca. 1.980 m halten wir uns bei der Ruine des Petersettes-Hofs links und folgen dem Almweg (Weg 6A) zur Planeiler Alm (2.203 m, im Sommer bewirtschaftet). Bereits von der Alm aus bietet sich ein großartiger Blick auf die Schneegipfel der Ortlergruppe - wer möchte, kann dem Almweg noch ca. 400 hm hinauf zum Kofelboden folgen. Die Abfahrt von der Planeiler Alm führt anfangs auf einem etwas holprigen Almweg, später auf einem schönen Singletrail über das Almgelände. Teilweise ist der Weg von Vieh etwas ausgetreten (im Sommer weiden hier ca. 400 Rinder und 1.000 Schafe). Ab Planeil folgen wir wieder dem bekannten Forstweg und rollen auf der Ortsverbindungsstraße zurück in Richtung Mals. Vor Mals laden einige Abzweige zum "Trailsurfen" hinunter in den Ort ein, hier sollten jedoch die ausgeschilderten Sperrungen respektiert werden (Bike ggf. schieben).

The tour is described in the official Bike literature of the South Tyrolean tourism offices. The reaction follows the approach on a side road uphill on well-developed forest and farm roads, which offer particularly to the place Planeil with short steeper ramps. From the Planeilalm eventually leads a very nice trail (partly narrow and a bit steep but fairly easily) through the pastureland back to Planeil. We start the tour in Malles Venosta top. We leave the place on a side street in the direction of Ultimo / Planeil. We follow her until she leaves the forest edge at about 3.3 km and turn left pivots through fields in Ultimo. We turn instead to the right on a forest road in the direction Planeil a (path no. 15). After about 240 hm we reach the place that seems to stick on a slope like a bird's nest. The attractive town image can not imagine that large parts were destroyed by Planeil in the 1980s by two fires today. We pass the village (in the parking lot right lane) and follow the service road (trail no. 6) to plan splitter valley. At about 1,980 m we keep in the ruins of the Petersettes-yard left and follow the cart path (Route 6A) to plan splitter Alm (2,203 m, farmed in the summer). Already from the Alm you can enjoy a great view of the snow peaks of the Ortler group - who wants the Almweg can still follow the Kofelboden 400 hm up. The departure from the plan piece Alm leads initially on a bumpy mountain path, later on a nice single trail through the alpine pastures. Sometimes the way of cattle something leaked is (in summer graze 400 cattle and 1,000 sheep). From Planeil we follow the familiar forest again and roll on the local link road back towards times. Before loading times for some feeders " Trail Surfing " down into the town, but here should signposted closures respected (bike if necessary move) are.
