Schopp - Johanniskreuz - Queidersbach - Schopp Das Radstadion in der Gemeinde Ort Schopp, unser Startpunkt der Tour 3, kann auf eine lange Radsportgeschichte zurückblicken. Hier begann die Karriere von Radsportgroessen wie Udo und Hardy Boelts. 1971 errichtete der RV Schopp eine Radrennbahn, auf der seit Jahrzehnten Bahnrennen auf internationalem Niveau veranstaltet werden. Zudem wurde der Ort durch die perfekten Durchführung von 3 nationalen Meisterschaften im Mountainbikesport, zu einer internationalen Topadresse im Cross-Country-Bereich. 1995 war Schopp erstmals Schauplatz der „Deutschen". Damals sicherten sich Marc Hanisch und Hanka Kupfernagel die Titel. Aufgrund des selektiven Kurses, dem tollen Start- und Zielbereich im Radstadion und der großen fachkundigen Zuschauerkulisse vergingen nur drei Jahre, ehe das kleine Dorf in der Westpfalz erneut zum Austragungsort der nationalen Meisterschaften gewählt wurde. 1998 konnten sich Ralph Berner und Hedda zu Putlitz in die Siegerlisten einschreiben. Bei einer weiteren Austragung im Jahr 2002 waren es dann keine geringeren als Lado Fumic und Sabine Spitz , die einen Ihrer Titel im Oval des Eichwaldstadions feierten. Deshalb startet selbst auf die separat ausgeschilderte , meisterschaftswürdige Cross-Country-Strecke und lasst Euch von Freunden im Radstadion als imaginäre Helden feiern...... ein cooles Gefühl!
