Diese mittelschwere Mountainbiketour hat es in sich. Knackige, teils felsige Trailabfahrten, gespickt mit Wurzeln, fordern schon einiges an Technikbeherrschung. Die teilweise sehr steilen Anstiege sind sicherlich auch nicht jedermanns Sache. Wenn man sich aber darauf einstellt, dass man diese Tour nur bei Trockenheit fährt und sowohl bergab als auch bergauf das Bike mal schieben muss, wird man von dieser Tour begeistert sein. Start der Tour ist am Hotel Stempferhof in Gößweinstein. Gleich am Hotel beginnt der erste kurze Pfad und ein wenig später geht es auf einem flowigen, teilweise wurzeligem Trail hinab nach Behringersmühle. An der Wiesent entlang verläuft der Weg, gespickt mit Traileinlagen, weiter zur Schottersmühle. Jetzt folgt der erste heftige Aufstieg nach Engelhardsberg und anschließend weiter zum „Hohen Kreuz“. Nach dem Erklimmen des Turmes steht die Oswaldhöhle auf dem Programm (Die Räder sollten an der Treppe stehen bleiben). Nach der Besichtigung folgt der Felsensteig nach Muggendorf. Ist die erste kurze Schiebepassage überwunden, steigt die Begeisterung und man wünscht sich, dass dieser Trail nicht enden würde. In Muggendorf angekommen überquert man die Wiesent, steigt ein paar Treppen hinauf und fährt auf dem Trail in Richtung Behringersmühle. Kurz nach der Sachsenmühle geht es noch einmal steil bergauf und zum Schluss muss noch ein kurzes Stück auf der Straße überwunden werden, bevor man vorbei an der Basilika zurück zum Ausgangspunkt kommt.

This medium-difficulty mountain bike tour has it all. Crisp, partly rocky trail runs, studded with roots, already require a lot of technique mastery. The partly very steep climbs are certainly not for everyone. If, however, it sets in that you drive this tour only in dry conditions and both downhill and uphill push the bike times must, you will be delighted with this tour.
