Start ist bei der Talstation der Seilbahn welche auf den Hochfelln führt. Von dort aus fährt man die Straße weiter in Richtung des Museums Maxhütte. Dieser Straße, welche entlang eines idyllischen Baches führt, folgt man weiter bis man zum markierten Wanderparkplatz kommt. Ab hier ist die Straße auch nicht mehr asphaltiert sondern geschottert. Nun geht es erst mal ein relativ steiles Stück bergauf. Es gilt einfach dem Weg zu folgen. Verfahren kann man sich kaum, solange man den Schildern zur "Bründlingalm" folgt. Diese liegt etwa 200m oberhalb der Bachschmied-Kaser Hütte. Nachdem man einige Höhenmeter hinter sich gebracht hat, kommt man wieder aus dem Wald raus und kann die Mittelstation der Seilbahn sehen. Jetzt ist es auch nicht mehr weit zur Bachschmied-Kaser Hütte. Hier kann man für einen angemessenen Preis bei zuvorkommender Gastfreundschaft ein gutes Essen genießen. Beeindruckend ist vor allem der tolle Blick auf die Felswand des Hochfelln. Ist man mit der Einkehr fertig, so geht es etwa 1/4 des gleichen Weges bis zur nächsten Kreuzung wieder bergab. Hier biegt man jedoch nicht wieder rechts ab, sondern fährt gerade aus weiter. Nach etwa 150 Höhenmetern erreicht man dann die Gleichenbergalm. Hier kann man sich bei Bedarf erneut stärken. Nun geht es nur noch bergab entlang des Weges zurück nach Bergen. Der Weg der Abfahrt ist ab dem Wanderparkplatz der Selbe wie der der Hinfahrt.
