l percorso denominato "Il massacro della Carboneria" si snoda sui Monti del Matese attraversando i territori dei comuni di Piedimonte Matese, Alife, S.Angelo D'Alife, Raviscanina, Valle Agricola, Castello Matese e S.Potito Sannitico. II percorso, con i suoi 72 km circa, tocca il borgo medievale di Rupecanina e il centro storico di Piedimonte Matese, i pianori di Selvapiana, Camporuccio, Camporotondo e Campo Braca, il suggestivo Lago del Matese, il villaggio agro-pastorale di Aritiello ed infine lungo la discesa lambiremo il bellissimo santuario francescano S. Maria Occorrevole. L'altimentria del percorso risulta abbastanza regolare, la prima parte della quale è caratterizzata da un falsopiano di trasferimento di circa 7 km, che ci farà riscaldare e ci condurrà alla base della salita lunga circa 21 km, che ci porterà alla quota di 1320 m.s.l sulla vetta del monte Raspolo, dal quale continuerà con un saliscendi, tra vallati e panorami mozzafiato, fino a raggiungere il kilometro 58, dal quale comincia la lunghissima e velocissima discesa. Lo spettacolo che si incontrerà è davvero incomparabile per l'estrema varietà morfologica del territorio. Il fondo dell'intero percorso è estremamente vario, si passerà dall'asfalto del trasferimento iniziale alla salita in sterrato, misto ad asfalto dissestato, per poi trovarci sul fondo in terreno compatto delle fantastiche vallate, e alla ghiaia della discesa con un ultimo tratto in asfalto. L'intero percorso è impegnativo, ma alla fine la soddisfazione sarà intensa e ripagherà ampiamente delle fatiche profuse..
