Partenza da Purgessimo (parcheggio chiesa). Tornando indietro si prende sulla destra un sentiero segnavia Cai indicazioni castello di Purgessimo/Castelmonte. Una breve discesa riporta sulla strada in direzione ponte San Quirino. Duecento metri sulla destra si segue in salita una strada sterrata. Dopo una curva destrosa poco più avanti sulla sinistra si sale un ripida traccia che porta direttamente al Castello. La pendenza del sentiero non permette di procedere in sella alla mtb ( 5/10 min a piedi). Arrivati al piazzale del Castello si prende a salire sulla carrareccia. Con saliscendi si incrocia una strada bianca da seguire in salita (sx). Si lascia sulla sinistra la pista cementata che sale al monte Purgessimo. Alcuni tornanti, un rettilineo e si sbuca sulla strada asfaltata che sale da Cividale a Castelmonte. Arrivati al piazziale antistante al Santuario si prende in discesa la strada che scende verso Cividale. Sulla prima curva si nota una scritta bianca su di un sassl (Purgessimo). Ha inizio single track inizialmente difficile (sassi sporgenti) che poi si trasforma in carrareccia. Con breve risalita si giunge ad un crocevia. Si prosegue in discesa lungo la strada bianca fatta in salita fino a giungere ad uno spiazzo erboso. Sulla sinistra si nota su albero segnavia Cai. Il single track risulta abbastanza impegnativo causa i sassi sporgenti che caratterizzano gran parte del suo percorso. Difficoltà single trail S2/S3. Consigliabile mtb full (150/160), casco integrale e protezioni. Il single ha termine proprio dietro la chiesa del paese di Purgessimo.

Departure from Purgessimo (church parking lot). Looking back on the right takes a path Cai directions Castle Purgessimo / Castelmonte. A short descent back on the road in the direction of San Quirino bridge. Two hundred meters to the right, follow a dirt road uphill. After a right-hand curve just ahead on the left goes up a steep trail that leads directly to the Castle. The slope of the path does not allow you to proceed in riding the bike (5-10 min walk). Arrived at the forecourt of the castle starts to climb on the cart track. With ups and downs crosses a dirt road to follow uphill (left). It leaves left on the concrete track that climbs the mountain Purgessimo. Some twists and turns, a straight and you will come out on the paved road that climbs from Cividale to Castelmonte. Arrived at the front of the sanctuary piazziale you take down the road down to Cividale. On the first corner there is a white font on a sassl (Purgessimo). It begins initially difficult single track (stones protruding), which then turns into dirt track. With short climb you come to a crossroads. Continue downhill along the dirt road made uphill until you reach a grassy area. On the left you can see on tree Cai. The single track is quite challenging due to the protruding rocks that characterize much of its route. Difficulty single trail S2 / S3. Recommended mtb full (150/160), full-face helmet and protections. The single ends just behind the village church of Purgessimo.
