Trail Description

Richiudere i cancelli chiusi, lasciare aperti i cancelli aperti.

Partenza dall’autocamp Slatina su asfalto verso Stivan.

Archipelago of Cres and Losinj
MTB purists might not consider Cres and Losinj as attractive destinations, but those planning a beach vacation in these areas will surely do well to also load the bike.
Realize circular paths in the islands long and narrow is problematic, as it is difficult to avoid long stretches of asphalt. In off-road, both single driveway that treck, given the calcareous geomorphology of the island, you have to deal with the case of sharp rocks that will test the robustness of the medium. Herbivores islanders have selected the millennia all manner of thorny shrub. Therefore recommended tires very robust, better tubeless, and a good supply of spare parts.
Along the ancient shepherds' paths, better follow the directions in the shape of small pyramids of stones, or traces of red paint, or small red circles, rather that the fresh tracks of the sheep that often lead only watering. Close the gates closed, leaving open the gates open. The downside is the crystal clear waters, beautiful views and sunsets over the Gulf of Kvarner, the scent of 1,500 plant species, lamb, pork and fish mouth-watering.
Giro eight Martinscica - Grmov - Lubenice - Zbicina - Mali Podol - Vidovici - Slatina Slatina dall'autocamp
out on asphalt towards Stivan. One kilometer before entering the backbone, turn left to Grmov. After a few kilometers the dirt road begins and you can see the lake on the right, for short distances (see photo). And 'forbidden to approach the lake. Past the village of Grmov a stretch cemented the end of which, on the left, there are the plots of the guns left over from the Cold War. It's worth stopping to admire the view of Zeca, Unija, Osor, Losinj. (See photo). Continue on the dirt road for another 5 6 km, passing through the abandoned village of Veli Podol. Asphalt turns left towards Lubenice. Must visit the ancient village and view of the Bay of Kvarner. You can groped to continue for a single treck to Pernat (never did) Or go down to the beach (see photo) (never did). In this round eight, the square of Lubenice, passing under a small arch, you take a dirt road that cemented the last part, comes to Zbicina. Asphalt, turn right and then right again going back to Lubenice, from Mali Podol, with oak in the middle of the street. From here we retrace part of the route already, but instead of arriving at Lubenice, turn left on a dirt road where you place a sign prohibiting camping. Attention in the pine forest at the junction. On the left you go to Vidovici (see tree with writing). Going straight instead you get on top of Mount Helm, but the single treck to get off is difficult to detect (I did walk). At the end of the pine forest begins the single treck really hard (for the tires) that leads to the hamlet of Vidovici. Another view from the church and began the rapid descent into the asphalt to Martinscica.
Nothing prevents shorten the ride by cutting its stake in Zbicina. Just back from Lubenice until the sign ban on camping.
