Il percorso, accessibile a tutti, partendo dal Pentagono di Bormio, si sviluppa tra la Valfurva, la Valdidentro e la Valdisotto per un totale di 67 km con un dislivello di 2300 mt.
Dopo aver attraversato il centro abitato, in zona Funivia ha inizio il tratto di lancio di km 3.5 su strada asfaltata passando nel paese di Piatta, si sale fino ad imboccare la strada bianca per Campolungo, con passaggio sulla mitica pista Stelvio dove nel 2005 si sono svolti i Campionati del mondo di Sci Alpino e dove ogni anno si svolgono le gare di Coppa del Mondo; questa strada sterrata è caratterizzata da scorrevoli sali scendi immersi in un folto bosco con incantevoli aperture panoramiche, per poi gradualmente diventare più impegnativa fino a Calvarana.
Da Calvarana si scende da una discesa veloce dal terreno compatto e scorrevole arrivando nel paese di S. Antonio nel comune di Valfurva dove attraverso la ciclabile lungo il fiume Frodolfo si raggiunge il centro abitato di S. Nicolò. Attraversando la statale a S. Nicolò si giunge a Teregua dove ha inizio la storica strada Militare dell'Ables; una salita pedalabile, regolare ad ampia carreggiata, dal fondo compatto, e scorrevole, immersa in uno scenario naturale da favola, tipico dell'alta montagna, che termina all'Alpe Solaz (punto più alto del percorso mt. 2050 slm.) al cospetto delle famose cime del gruppo montuoso dell-Ortles Cevedale, da qui un panorama mozzafiato con vista sull'intera valle. Dall-Alpe Solaz una discesa a tratti impegnativa ma priva di pericoli, su ampio sentiero dal fondo compatto porta in località Fantelle; in direzione dell-omonimo parcheggio attraverso un sentiero scorrevole e divertente, si giunge al Ponte delle Tre Croci all'imbocco della Val Zebrù e svoltando poi a destra su ampia strada sterrata si arriva a Niblogo.
Gpm Alpe Solaz 2050 mtPercorrendo un breve tratto di strada asfaltata verso Plazzanecco Noal ci si collega al sentiero Stravalfurva dal quale una scorrevole discesa ci porta nel tratto più caratteristico e divertente del tracciato immerso nel verde delle pinete del Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio nella zona della Reit, costituito da spettacolari single track tutti da guidare che ci accompagnano nel centro storico del comune di Bormio con un caratteristico passaggio nella centrale piazza Cavour.
Transitando lungo il paese si arriva in zona Pentagono (stadio partenza arrivo) dove dopo uno spettacolare circuito di 2 Km nei dintorni, termina il percorso classic.
Il percorso marathon prosegue nei pressi del fiume Adda fino a Premadio, da qui, ci inoltriamo nel bosco in zona Planec ; una salita mediamente impegnativa su strada sterrata che costeggia la pista da ski roll, dove nel periodo estivo si allenano gli atleti delle Nazionali di tutto il mondo nelle discipline dello sci di fondo e biathlon, ci porta in località le Motte. Seguendo parte del tracciato della pista da fondo, (sede delle gare di Coppa del Mondo di sci di fondo nel 2009), attraverso una discesa facile e divertente si arriva nel Comune di Valdidentro con passaggio nello ski stadium centro del biathlon.
Discesa nuovo percorso 2011Nelle immediate vicinanze dello ski stadium ha inizio il secondo GPM della giornata, la salita di "Fochin", impegnativa nei primi metri ma poi regolare e dal fondo stradale ottimo ed ampio. Sono quattro i chilometri di ascesa fra pascoli, boschi e tipiche baite di montagna, attraversando le piste di discesa di Valdidentro, si sbocca su una panoramica e ondulata strada in quota (1800 mt.alt.) immersa in una folta pineta con ampie finestre panoramiche sul monte Scale e le millenarie Torri di Fraele che unitamente alle dighe di Cancano sono una delle connotazioni più tipiche della Valdidentro, poste a 1930 mt. d'altitudine sul percorso dell'antica via Imperiale.
Passaggio Forte VeniniIn direzione Valdisotto dopo qualche chilometro in quota, ecco un altro incantevole passaggio che oltre ad avere una straordinaria vista su Bormio interessa una zona storico naturalistica: il Forte militare Venini costruito pochi anni prima della Grande Guerra ed la riserva naturale del Paluaccio di Oga. Sfruttando i divertenti sentieri costruiti per neonato bike Park di Oga si raggiunge l'omonimo paese, una scorrevole discesa su strada sterrata dal fondo regolare ci porta ad attraversare tutta la zona delle sorgenti dell' acqua Levissima fino al bivio La Ronca, svoltando a sinistra sarà una mulattiera a condurci all-ultimo breve tratto per poi raggiungere il campo sportivo, il paese di S.Lucia su strada asfaltata da dove mancano 2 km all'arrivo, previsto in zona Pentagono di Bormio. The course, open to all, starting from the Pentagon to Bormio, develops between the Valfurva, the Bormio and Valdisotto for a total of 67 km with an elevation gain of 2300 meters.
After passing through the town, Cable car in the area begins the stretch of the launch of 3.5 km of asphalt roads in the village of Flat, climb up to take the dirt road to Campolungo, with passage on the legendary Stelvio track where in 2005 they held the World Championship in Skiing Alpine and where competitions are held every year in the World Cup; This dirt road is characterized by sliding up and down surrounded by a thick forest with lovely panoramic openings, and then gradually become more challenging to Calvarana.
From Calvarana it comes down to a fast descent from the soil compact and smooth coming in village of San Antonio in the municipality of Valfurva where through the path along the river Frodolfo you reach the village of St. Nicholas. Crossing the road to St. Nicholas will come to Teregua where to begin the historic Military Road dell'Ables; an uphill pedaling, adjust to wide track, from the bottom of compact and smooth, immersed in a natural setting fabulous, typical of high mountains, ending at Alpe Solaz (highest point of the trail mt. 2,050 m asl.) in the presence of the famous peaks of the mountains of the Ortler-Cevedale, hence a breathtaking view of the entire valley. Dall-Alpe Solaz a descent at times challenging but without danger of wide path from the back door in compact locations Fantelle; in the direction of the same name-parking along a path smoother and more fun, we arrive at the Bridge of the Three Crosses at the entrance of Val Zebrù and then turning right on wide dirt road you come to Niblogo.
GPM Alpe Solaz 2050 mtPercorrendo a short stretch of paved road Plazzanecco Noal you connect to Stravalfurva path from which a sliding descent takes us to the most distinctive and entertaining plot surrounded by green pine forests of the Stelvio National Park in the area of Reit, consisting of spectacular single track to ride all who join us in the historic center of the town of Bormio with a characteristic passage in the central Piazza Cavour.
Passing along the country you arrive in the Pentagon area (stage departure arrival) where after a spectacular circuit 2 km in the surroundings, the path ends classic.
The marathon route goes near the river Adda to Premadio, from here, we enter the woods in the area Planec; a climb of average challenging dirt road that runs along the track roller skis, where in summer they train the athletes of the National worldwide in the disciplines of cross country skiing and biathlon, brings us into the resort Motte. Following the path of the slope, (venue for the World Cup cross-country skiing in 2009), through a descent easy and fun you get in the town of Bormio ski stadium with passage in the center of the biathlon.
< br> Descent 2011Nelle new location right next to the ski stadium begins the second GPM of the day, the ascent of "Fochin", challenging the first few meters but then the road surface smooth and excellent and wide. There are four miles of ascent through meadows, woods and typical mountain huts, across the ski slopes of Bormio, leads you on a scenic and undulating road at high altitude (1800 mt.alt.) Surrounded by a thick pine forest with large panoramic windows Scale on the mountain and the age-old Torri Fraele that together with the dams Cancano are one of the most typical connotations of Bormio, placed in 1930 mt. of altitude on the route of the ancient Via Imperiale.
Step Forte VeniniIn Valdisotto direction after a few kilometers in altitude, here's another lovely passage that in addition to having an extraordinary view of Bormio affects an area's historic nature: the Strong Venini military built a few years before the Great War and the nature reserve of Paluaccio of Oga. Leveraging fun bike trails built for newborn Park Oga you reach the village of the same name, a sliding downhill on a dirt road from the bottom to adjust brings us to cross the entire area of the springs' water Levissima to the junction La Ronca, turning left will a trail to lead us all-the last short section and then to the sports field, the country of St. Lucia on a paved road from where missing 2 km on arrival, expected in the Pentagon area of Bormio.
