Trail Description

Verso antiorario – km 32 – dislivello 650 m.

Piazzale Casarossa a Gorizia

Counter-clockwise - 32 km - altitude 650 m.
Departure from Piazzale Casarossa Gorizia. The tour is spread almost entirely in the territory of Slovenia. It first runs along the dirt track that runs along the Isonzo parallel to the railway, a few km before plave to turn right uphill and after a few hairpin will get you on top of the hill and then take the path that leads to the paved road that climbs the mountain Sabotino.
This itinerary does not include the climb up to the refuge, however, that you can reach after a few hundred meters from the junction of the dirt road that leads in Italy.
returned to Italy along a single track technical and sometimes exposed (difficulty S1) that will take us to the village of Salcano retrace in the opposite direction from where the road crossed leg.
The route can also be done in reverse, but in that case the slope will be harder and more technique and the descent less fun! Piazzale Casarossa in Gorizia
