Trail Description

itinerary short and intense on the Mount of Rosara. It starts from Porta Cartara and reach the convent of the Annunciation. Just above, the Fortezza Pia, cvostruita on the old "formwork al Monte" or "Castle", built by Picenes and destroyed by the Romans Strabo, the Fortezza Pia is on the top of the hill of the Annunciation, on the highest point of Ascoli. From its strategic position it dominates the city. That's why the area of formwork, since the time picena and Roman times, has always been fortified. That's why the defensive structure built there was connected directly to the fortifications of Porta Romana, via a walkway carved into the double ring of ramparts. Restored in 1349 by Jailbird Malatesta: the fortress of the Fortress and Forte Malatesta became the cornerstone for the defense and the domination of the city. He made well aware that the characters in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, attempted to conquer the lordship of Ascoli. Continuing on the main road past the junction for Venerosse and at a sharp bend at high speed to go down a dirt road, which goes to the village of Mozzano (maximum attention when crossing the tunnel entrance of the village). Before crossing the bridge over the Fosso Rio Corciano, turn left for a long and steep brecciated. The latter dates from the moat to the mountain ridge that divides the Valle del Castellano from Valle del Tronto. Once at the top of the hill and turn left at a rural village take a right up a steep dirt road that climbs Mount Rosara. The view sweeps over the Sibillini chain, the Apennines and the Lost on most of the Laga. After bypassed a small church where we turn right, past the houses, begins the second descent of our tour in the first instance size fields and then shrink and get into the bush. When you log in the woods turn immediately left and proceed halfway up the Hermitage of San Giorgio, an abandoned monastery, built in 1382 on the initiative of Bishop Peter Torricella. The single track that falls to Lake Lodges, especially for visitors to the area, does not need any introduction, given its reputation as a delightful path that offers the final two turns pulse-pounding. Lake houses, shaded by the huge leap in the rock of Castel Trosino, go back on the road for Valle Castellana and take a few minutes left in arriving at the core of the houses of the Lake. Turn to the right and after a short climb before we come to a 'home, looking to the left you can see a nice trail that goes halfway into the woods leading to a sharp bend around the corner from Palombare. Resumed the asphalt turn right and in a few rides you get to intercept the fun track # 1 CAI that descends from Colle San Marco. At this point we take a left and follow the signs to paint white / red we taste the third and final downhill of this nice itinerary.
