Questo percorso, come altri in Lefkada ha molto asfalto; noi associamo asfalto a traffico .. ma qui non è così: spesso le strada asfaltate, ad eccezione delle poche interessate da traffico turistico balneare, sono deserte e spesso anche più panoramiche di tanti sterrati.
DESCRIZIONE:
Dal parcheggio del bar-taverna DECK si risale alla costiera e pochi m dopo la si attraversa per prendere una secondaria (asfaltata) con ind. “Sfakiotes 5 Km”. Inizialmente panoramica sul mare lato ovest, dopo 2 tornanti punta all’interno; ci accoglie un bel bosco fresco e profumato che mitiga la fatica di una salita impegnativa. Si raggiunge l’altopiano ad Asprogerakata (wp B q.390 ) dove si attraversa la principale. Dopo un breve tratto sterrato si torna sulla principale nel wp C. Dopo 1 Km, a Pigadisani, si lascia la principale salendo per stradine alla parte alta del paese; poi si superano alcune dure rampe (malamente cementate) infine, su pendenze e fondo più agevoli, si raggiunge in E q. 600 una principale (si fa per dire: il traffico resta inesistente!). La salita bella e sempre più panoramica sulla costa est di Lefkada, termina a q. 920 nei pressi di una vasta zona militare (orribili antenne radar sono visibili sulla cima lato nord). Dopo breve discesa si stacca sulla sx la stradina per Profiti Ilias (q. 1020): meta irrinunciabile !
Dalla sommità, sede del monastero, si gode un affascinante vista su quasi tutta l’isola, coperta solo verso sud, dal monte Elati, 130 m più alto (ed occupato da antenne).
Tornati alla base si prosegue in falsopiano ondulato fino al wp K2 q. 815 dove inizia una lunga discesa che porta sul versante ovest completando così la panoramica verso Vasiliki e la penisola di Porto Katsiki. Scesi ad Hortata (fontana in centro e taverna a fine paese) si tiene la principale per Kalamitsi per 2,5 Km, quindi la si lascia per uno sterrato che ci collega con una secondaria in N. Una veloce discesa porta a Kalamitsi ed ancora, sulla principale per Agh Nikitas, si scende (contropendenza di 20 m) fino a raggiungere il wp Q 255. Da qui, per secondaria,poi si ritrova la principale in S q. 175 e dopo breve risalita si imbocca uno sterrato che permette di tagliare tutta la principale fino ad Agh. Nikitas: interessante e sconosciuto, con il piccolo inconveniente che presenta una serie di 5 contropendenze che fanno accumulare altri 100 m di salita (si può evitare tenendo la principale) . Dopo una discesa con finale “da brivido”si perviene comunque, nel wp U q.25, ad Agh. Nikitas. Ancora 2 veloci Km lungo costa e si ritrova il luogo di partenza.

NOTE: see above paths 341-346 Login This path, like others in Lefkada has a lot asphalt; we associate asphalt in traffic .. but here it is not so often the road paved, with the exception of the few affected by traffic tourist resort, are deserted and often also the most scenic of the many dirt roads.
DESCRIPTION:
From the parking lot of the bar-tavern DECK goes back to the coast and a few meters after you cross to take a secondary (paved) with ind. "Sfakiotes 5 Km." Initially panoramic sea west side, after 2 turns pointing inside; a beautiful forest welcomes us fresh and fragrant that mitigates the fatigue of a tough climb. You reach the plateau at Asprogerakata (wp q.390 B) where you cross the main. After a short stretch of dirt road is back on the main wp C. After 1 Km, to Pigadisani, you leave the main streets going up to the upper part of the country; then exceed some steep ramps (poorly cemented) finally, on slopes and bottom easier, you reach in E q. A 600 main (so to say, the traffic is non-existent!). The climb more and more beautiful and scenic east coast of Lefkada, ending at q. 920 near a large military zone (horrible radar antennas are visible on top of the north side). After a short descent leads off to the left the road to Profiti Ilias (q. 1020): destination must!
From the top, center of the monastery, you will enjoy a fascinating view of nearly the entire island, covered only southward, from the mountain elati, 130 m higher (and occupied by antennas).
Back at the base, continue on a slight slope to the corrugated wp K2 q. 815, where he began a long descent that takes on the west side, thus completing the overview to Vasiliki and the peninsula of Porto Katsiki. I went down to Hortata (the fountain in the center and tavern at the end of the country) is held on the main Kalamitsi for 2.5 km, then it is left to a dirt road that connects us with a secondary N. A fast descent leads to Kalamitsi and again, on the main Agh Nikitas, you go down (counterslope 20 m) up to the wp Q 255. Hence, for secondary, then finds himself in the main S q. 175, and after a short climb, take a dirt road that allows you to cut up to all the main Agh. Nikitas: interesting and unknown, with the small disadvantage that presents a series of 5 counterslopes they do accumulate other 100 m climb (you can avoid taking the main). After a descent with the final "chilling" is reached, however, in the wp U q.25, for Agh. Nikitas. Still fast 2 km along the coast and finds the place of departure.
