DESCRIZIONE:
Dal campeggio si evita la strada principale per Agh. Petros percorrendo stradine minori ed in parte sterrate che attraversano la piana a nord di Vasiliki. In C si incontra una stradina asfaltata ed a tratti ripida che punta decisa verso Aghios Petros. Raggiunto il paese dove si può trovare ristoro (unica possibilità nel percorso ! ) si prosegue sulla principale fino al wp E q. 420 dove la si lascia per una strada inizialmente ripida e dissestata. L’inizio è scoraggiante ma poco più avanti il fondo migliora e la pendenza si fa mite. La forestale prende quota dolcemente, sempre più panoramica sulla baia di Vasiliki ed i monti circostanti (il più alto, monte Elati q. 1182 dir. NNE). Una breve contropendenza fa perdere 15 m di quota e guadagnare velocità ...(giusto quello che ci voleva per seminare un cane pastore a guardia di un ovile poco più sotto).
Poi la pista riprende a salire ed a tratti ripida e sassosa da appiedare per qualche minuto chi non è molto forte in salita. Si raggiunge una zona di antenne (assai panoramica, sopra Vasiliki) e poi il punto di quota max (605 m). Da qui per un lungo tratto la strada serpeggia in numerose curve e saliscendi con alternanza di fondo buono/sassoso in un panorama brullo e desolato; superato il crinale si cambia versante ma la vista sul mare Ionio è impedita da nubi che salgono minacciose. La discesa si fa ora più decisa e nel wp I q. 380 si confluisce su una strada asfaltata. NOTA: svoltando a dx si potrebbe scendere ad una delle tante spiagge lato ovest di Lefkada (Porto Katsiki, Egremni, Gialou) . Proseguiamo invece, svoltando a sx, fino al wp J dove bisogna deviare a sx su sterrato per iniziare poco dopo il discesone finale che riporta a Vasiliki. Impossibile non fermarsi ad ammirare la baia man mano che ci si avvicina; il blu intenso risalta ancor più con il biancore abbagliante della strada. Nel finale una non gradita sorpresa: a quota 85 m la strada riprende a salire; una contropendenza inattesa di una 40-ina di m; infine, ritrovato l’asfalto si torna a scendere velocemente, raggiungendo presto il lungomare sul lato ovest della baia.

DESCRIPTION:
From the campsite you avoid the main road to Agh. Petros along smaller streets and dirt partly crossing the plain to the north of Vasiliki. In C, you will come across a paved road and steep in pointing decided to Aghios Petros. At the village where you can find rest (the only option in the path!) Continue on to the main wp E q. 420 where it is left for an initially steep and bumpy road. The beginning is daunting but a little further improves the bottom and the slope becomes mild. The forest climbs gently, more and more over the bay of Vasiliki and surrounding mountains (the highest, Mount Elati q. 1182 dir. NNE). A short contropendenza lose 15 m altitude and gain speed ... (just what we wanted to sow a shepherd guarding a flock little more below).
Then the trail starts to climb and steep in places and Beachy by appiedare for a few minutes who is not very strong in the climb. You will reach an area of ??antennas (very scenic, Vasiliki above) and then the point of maximum altitude (605 m). From here the road for a long stretch meanders in numerous curves and ups and downs with alternating good bottom / stony in a landscape barren and desolate; passed the ridge slope is changed but the views of the Ionian sea is obstructed by clouds that rise threatening. The descent is now stronger and in wp I q. 380 it converges on a paved road. NOTE: turning right, you can go to one of the many beaches of the west side of Lefkada (Porto Katsiki, Egremni, Gialou). We continue on the other hand, turning to the left, to the wp J where you have to deflect to the left on a dirt road to begin shortly after the discesone that the final Vasiliki. Could not stop to admire the bay as you approach; the intense blue stands out even more with the dazzling whiteness of the road. In the end an unwelcome surprise: a 85 m share the road starts to climb; an unexpected counter slope of a 40-m ina; finally found the asphalt to fall back quickly, soon reaching the waterfront on the west side of the bay.
