Si parte dal borgo ex minerario di Pietratonda, imboccando una sterrata tra le due palazzine che si dirige verso sud. Immediatamente si svolta a destra e si percorre un comodo sterrato costeggiando un lago. Seguendo le indicazione del sentiero M1, si imbocca a destra, trovandosi poco dopo ad attraversare una bellissima sughereta (la sughereta di pietratonda). Continuando si perviene ad una zona ceduata e svoltando a destra si imbocca una ripida discesa terminante con un guado (attenzione alla discesa). Comincia una dura salita, dal fondo assai sconnesso (io l'ho fatta in parte a piedi) che costeggia il fosso dei Roviccioni. Siamo sul percorso M4. Dopo un ulteriore guado si raggiunge la zona di poggio della Navaccia. Da qui per comodi sterrati si perviene proprio sotto alla cima di Monteleoni. Si prende a sinistra per un ultima salita un po faticosa e giunti al termine della sterrata, si imbocca sulla destra un sentierino costeggiante una rete metallica. Da qui si perviene alla vetta.Per il ritorno si ricalca in parte l'andata e si ripercorrono gli altri segmenti degli anelli M4 e M1. La sentieristica è stata predisposta dalla provincia di Grosseto ed in rete si trova una guida naturalistica dell'Oasi di Monteleoni. Da non perdere il punto panoramico denominato "La Diramata", poco prima di pervenire alla cima del Monteleoni. bei panorami verso Roccastrada. Dalla cima invece bei panorami su Grosseto e verso il mare.L'itinerario si svolge all'interno di oasi di protezione e quindi non si incontrano cacciatori o battute al cinghiale. Raggiunti il pase di montorsaio si prende una strada asfaltata e stretta che corre in direzione nord, e si perviene dopo pocghi kilomteri a Pietratonda. Oppure dalla superstrada Siena Grosseto, si esce a Paganico e si prende per Pietratonda.

It starts from the former mining village of Pietratonda, onto a dirt road between the two buildings that heads south. Immediately turn right and walk along a dirt road along a lake convenient. Turn left for a last climb a bit tiring and come to the end of the dirt road, turn right into a narrow path running along a wire mesh. From here we arrive at the vetta.Per the return is partly follows the first leg and will retrace the other segments of the Rings M4 and M1. Do not miss the scenic spot called "La branched", just before reaching the top of the Monteleoni. beautiful views towards Roccastrada. Beautiful views from the top instead of Grosseto and towards the mare.L'itinerario takes place within an oasis of protection and therefore do not meet or beat the wild boar hunters. Reached the pase of Montorsaio you take a narrow paved road that runs north and you will reach after pocghi kilomteri to Pietratonda. Or from the Siena Grosseto, exit at Paganico and takes to Pietratonda.
