La salita al Monte Biaina si sviluppa per la quasi totalità nel bosco ed è intervallata solo dalle splendide falesie di Padaro. Il Monte Biaina cela un inatteso e suggestivo panorama su Riva del Garda e sul lago che si dischiude all’occhio del biker solo nella parte finale di tracciato. Da Varignano si sale al passo di San Giovanni al Monte, valico che permette il collegamento tra la Valle del Sarca e le Giudicarie Esteriori. Invece di proseguire per l’itinerario Garda-Brenta si devia lungo la variante di Naciole. Giungiamo su un pianoro nel bosco ai piedi del Monte Biaina, lasciamo il sentiero n.407 che procede ampio sulla sx e iniziamo l’arrampicata in portage per la vetta. Arriviamo all’anticima dalla quale parte un bellissimo sentiero di cresta, in alcuni punti esposto, che conduce ad un piccola sella. Ultimo sforzo sempre in portage e si arriva sulla cima. Apparentemente, per la via di discesa si dovrebbe ritornare indietro e riagganciarsi al sentiero 407 ma non è proprio così. Alcune carte escursionistiche riportano una vecchia traccia che dalla vetta discende sulla cosiddetta “variante” ma l’assenza di segnalazioni ci spinge a scendere da un ripido camminamento che giunto ad una radura confluisce in un canale ed a sua volta sbuca su una carrareccia. Prendendo a dx quest’ultima incrocia il 407 poco più a valle ed in corrispondenza di un bivio lo imbocchiamo facendo attenzione al primo tratto che attualmente risulta franato. Dopo dei bei passaggi nella boscaglia ecco di nuovo l’incrocio con la carrareccia. Giraiamo a dx e previo veloce strappo in salita lasciamo il sentiero 407 per il ben più entusiasmante sentiero 409b, una traccia che istiga a mollare i freni, che presenta passaggi su placche di roccia, sassi smossi, ma anche tratti veloci ed a fondo battuto…insomma un vero spasso. Via di discesa mai esasperata ma molto divertente che non dimentica nel finale di regalare suggestive vedute su Riva e sul Lago di Garda.

The climb to Mount Biaina develops almost entirely in the woods and is punctuated only by the beautiful cliffs of Padaro. The Monte Biaina hides an unexpected and impressive view of Riva del Garda and the lake which is revealed to the eye of the rider in the final part of the track. From Varignano climb to the pass of San Giovanni al Monte, a pass that allows the connection between the Sarca Valley and Outer Giudicarie. Instead of going for the route Garda-Brenta you turn down the variant Naciole. We arrived on a plateau in the woods at the foot of Mount Biaina, leave the path 407 which proceeds wide on the left and start climbing to the summit in portage. We arrive as the pre from which a beautiful ridge trail, in places exposed, leading to a small saddle. Last effort ever in portage and you get on top. Apparently, for the descent route you should go back and hang up the path to the 407 but this is not so. Some cards show an old hiking trail that descends from the summit of the so-called "variant" but no reports pushes us to go down a steep walkway that came to a clearing flows in a channel and in turn leads onto a cart. Taking dx latter crosses the 407 little more downstream and in correspondence with a crossroads we take the paying attention to the first section which is currently collapsed. After some good steps in the bush here again the intersection with the cart. Giraiamo right and climb uphill fast after we leave the path 407 to the much more exciting path 409B, a track that incites to let go of the brakes, which has steps on rock slabs, stones, dislodged, but also fast sections and thoroughly beaten ... in short, a real hoot. Via downhill ever exasperated but very funny that in the end do not forget to give impressive views of Riva on Lake Garda.
