Nel descrivere questo itinerario devo assolutamente ringraziare Ruotalpina (Andrea e Luigi).
Infatti ho voluto unire 3 dei loro itinerari in un unico tour avente come protagonista il Monte Avena.
La partenza è da Pedavena, poco dopo la chiesa, dove è presente anche una fontana.
Lo scaldagambe si fa su alfalto fino a Fonzaso, dove si prende da strada dismessa che fiancheggia la galleria e si prende la bella e panoramica salita sterrata per Faller (è possibile, sempre in mtb, la deviazione per la chiesa di Santa Giustina).
Un altro paio di chilometri di asfalto fino a Faller, quindi uno sterrato abbastanza costante ci accompagna fino al bivacco Yale. Qui ha inizio un lungo traverso che in circa 6 km ci collega con la dura salita che proviene da Facen. Ci aspettano dure rampe sterrate, con pendenze tra il 18 e il 22%. Si scollina nei pressi del Col Melon, dove in discesa e poi in salita si giunge al sentiero tematico delle Chiesette. Dopo circa 2 km ci si allaccia all'asfalto che sale al Monte Avena. Qui ci aspetta una bella deviazione fino alla cima, dove sono presenti una malga e un punto di ristoro. La discesa è varia, sempre sterrata, sia carrabile sia sentiero, e ci porta verso ovest, sulla strada che sale da Sovramonte.
Riportati al Passo, si scende con una infinita e variopinta serie di saliscendi fino a Vignui. Il panorama sulle Vette Feltrine, su tutto questo lungo finale di trenta chilometri, è sbalorditivo. Idem per il percorso. Gli ultimi 7 chilometri circa di discesa sono scorrevoli e veloci, e sono certo che vi passeranno (purtroppo) in un lampo.
Ancora per sterrati e strade secondarie di arriva quasi all'altezza del birrificio. Un'ultima rampa e si è alla chiesa di Pedavena.

In fact, I wanted to combine 3 of their routes in a single tour having as protagonist the Monte Avena.
The departure is from Pedavena, shortly after the church, where there is also a fountain.
The scaldagambe you do on alfalto to Fonzaso, where you take to the road that runs along the disused tunnel and take the beautiful and scenic dirt road climb to Faller (you can always mtb, the deviation for the church of Santa Giustina).
Another couple of miles of asphalt to Faller, then a dirt road fairly constant takes us to the bivouac Yale. Here begins a long traverse in about 6 km connects us with the tough climb that comes from Facen. We expect hard dirt ramps with gradients between 18 and 22%. It scollina near the Col Melon, where downhill and then uphill, you reach the path of thematic Chiesette. After about 2 km you lace asphalt that climbs Mount Avena. Here we expect a detour up to the top, where there are a hut and a refreshment bar. The descent is varied, always dirt driveway is both path and leads us to the west, on the road that climbs from Sovramonte.
Reported to the Pass, you go down with an endless and colorful series of ups and downs until Vignui. The views of the peaks of Feltre, throughout this long final thirty kilometers, is stunning. Ditto for the path. The last 7 miles are sliding downhill and fast, and I am sure that you will pass (unfortunately) in a flash.
Again for gravel roads and secondary roads to arrive almost at the brewery. A final ramp and was the church of Pedavena.
