Oggi io e Marcello abbiamo provato una nuova traccia, in parte inedita. Siamo partiti da Calestano per salire sul Montagnana passando da Ravarano, quindi appena prima della vetta , circa a quota 1100 circa si gira a sinistra (un giro in cima al Montagnana e' pero' d'obbligo perche' molto bello e mancano solo 200 metri) e si scende per carraie abbastanza tecniche fino a raggiungere il paese di Vigolone, dove ci si puo' approvigionare di acqua. Una breve visita al paese, molto suggestivo e poi via a scendere a valle. Questa volta invece di scendere verso Linara, come spesso ho fatto e tantomeno verso Calestano, si imbocca all'unico incrocio una carraia in discesa, all'inizio un po' impervia per la vegetazione, ma tenendo sempre la sinistra dopo poco si libera da frasche e varie e diventa interessante e ben percorribile. Dopo qualche centinaia di metri si abbandona la traccia e si tiene la sinistra per imboccare una vecchia strada abbandonata, di cui si riconosce con difficolta' l'imbocco, e anche poco pulita all'inizio ma poi ricca di soddisfazione, molto Enduro e poco XC (occhio a una piccola frana da attraversare). Dopo un lungo e bello single track si sbuca sull'asfalto.Qua o si percorre fino alla provinciale di fondovalle per il rientro oppure dopo qualche centinaia di metri di asfalto e in prossimita' dell'imbocco a ritroso di una casa di agricoltori (con cani grossi ma buoni) si entra nell'aia e si tiene subito la sinistra e poi ancora subito a sinistra, passando ...sotto al recinto elettrico per pochi metri, quindi si imbocca un'altra ex strada smessa e poi si percorre la ripida discesa pulita ma estremamente tecnica sotto all'elettrodotto e si arriva alla ex piscina di Calestano. Da qua si arriva tramite ghiaiata alla provinciale e si rientra a Calestano, magari passando dal borgo. Noi non abbiamo incontrato mai nessuno in questi 9 km di discesa pero' alla casa da agricoltori ci hanno "beccato" subito, abbiamo chiesto di passare e sono stati molto gentili e cordiali e ...hanno pure staccato la corrente del recinto. Gran giro nuovo per noi !
Un piccolo problema all'altimetro del gps dato da un ramo potrebbe creare qualche problema alla traccia. Ritrovo classico al Bar di Calestano, parcheggio libero

Today Marcello and I have tried a new track, in part unpublished. From here you get through the gravel at the provincial and falls in Caledon, maybe passing through the village. We have not ever met anyone in these 9 km descent but 'the house since farmers have "caught" immediately, we asked to move and were very polite and friendly and ... have also disconnected the power to the fence.
