Siamo in Sardegna, costa Occidentale centro/sud.

DESCRIPTION
From Montevecchio is part of a long and pleasant descent to the Costa Verde; you will notice the unmistakable "panettone" of Arcuentu in dir. north / west; at the foot of the mountain, leaving the principal to take a paved road but very scenic (almost no traffic), which leads to two farmhouses scattered among these mountains, and after an easy brow, drops on the coastal road (Costa Verde) near Portu Maga . Various possibilities of access to the sea, turning off the road to clear paths; followed by a short climb and a stretch top and panoramic
while the slope on the sea becomes more sandy. The asphalt ends and it comes down to an easy ford on Riu Piscinas; Even a short climb up to the rooftop wp G1 (q.50), then drop down and a second ford to be overcome, wider and deeper. At the junction (wp I) proposes a detour (return trip to the nearby beach of Piscinas), not essential but highly recommended, both because you can not resist the temptation of a beautiful bathroom that for some refreshments at one of the 2 kiosks sea front. < br> From Piscinas, where you will have admired the sand dunes, the highest in Europe, you go back to the fork wp I, then we head upstream on the sandy track initially. After 3 km you pass the turnoff to the campground Sciopadroxiu go uphill very bland and well shaded. Occasionally you will see the remains of the mining sites that have affected a wide area during the period 1850/1990 (some sites are now kept accessible for guided tours). In particular, in wp C q.90 will be in front of the ruins of the washery Brassey and the adjoining basin sludge Naracauli. Now begins the stretch of tarmac that allows us to go back to the country of Ingurtosu, a once-thriving, then almost abandoned, and that now points right on the "mining tourism" for regrowth. Since wp D can pay a visit to the upper part of the country with the majestic Palace of Directorate making arch over the road.
Back in D (q.250) take the wide dirt road (with a ban) for Montevecchio. Share edged up to 310 m (wp E) begins to descend steeply into the valley dell'Irvi until you reach the bottom in the vicinity of other major mining structures (Shipyard Casargiu); From this point of minimum altitude (wp q.160 F) will continue with a long but moderate ascent to Montevecchio.
reached the brow of q. 345 you have a nice overview of the underlying lakes (artificial, for mining use), then drops quickly to a height of 300 (P wp) where he started the last climb that brings us back to Montevecchio.
We are in Sardinia, West Coast center / south. About halfway between Oristano and Cagliari, we turn to the west to GUSPINI. From here there is a direct road to Montevecchio or a passing first to ARBUS (the easiest). A MONTEVECCHIO, you can park near the mining park. At the next crossroads is a pine forest and a kiosk (the fountain is not always active).
