Trail Description

Grio full Monte Generoso, with perhaps the most beautiful and less esploarata descent (and perhaps this is why in some places a little 'dirty). It 'a physically demanding tour and with many technical sections, both up and down.
Part of the market covered Mendrisio, convenient and ample parking.
Through the streets of downtown, take the paved road that climbs Generoso; Salorino to take the right (via Wine, then Tour de Campora) in steep ascent, which becomes flatter dirt. At Bivo near some houses turn right; from here the path Lardai, stony gravel and partly loose, that with twists and technical passages to the limit of traction leads us to Cragno.
Once in the village turn right in the direction of the Fat, reachable with a pair of tearing through a beautiful forest path. After crossing the pastures, take a left uphill, bypassing the farm, and then left again on the trail. It scollina the Hour of Dosso, after 4.5km to 550m in altitude.
From here, on asphalt, we head towards the train station Bellavista, but before you reach it, near a bend on the dirt road, we take a the right.
This stretch is very hard to go riding, but with technique and leg you can do.
After 4 switchbacks we reach the path that crosses the tracks of the train and salt meadows along the south side. The first km is pedaled (some technical passage), but after the second stroke in the woods, you will need to push mainly: it is 1 km to less than 200 meters, on a large path with steps.
Reaching the station of arrival train, a break is a must, but be careful because the climb is not over yet. We must therefore rise for a hundred yards and take the path up.
This stretch that runs under the peak of Genreso is extremely exposed in places and has several steps that I recommend, for safety, to address either walk.
When you reach a saddle with views of Lake Lugano, begins the descent towards Barco of Montoni, fast section and open on typical alpine trail. At the end of the short climb on the lawn, turn left and continue downhill on wide path with steps (past a dry stone wall), up to a clearing, where you can go downhill in a channel, sometimes slimy (in fact in track switches on another path, less fun but more secure in the wet).
reached the clearing, take a left onto the track, and soon after left you will see the steps uphill. From here there is a beautiful single track is very technical because of the continuous rise in raises, seasoned with roots and rocks; some short stretches are not ridable.
After the barracks of the border, a last tear us to the beginning of the descent towards real Arogno. It starts in a faggetta, in which the trace of the path is not very visible, but it becomes more and more with the increasing of the slope; cross the dirt track and continue down this stretch beautiful, with continuous curves and reverse curves, up to incorciare another path. We turn left uphill towards Alpe Arogno; the pass and continue downhill. Beware of this section, has many twists and turns, some narrow and very steep.
Continue downhill following the signs for Arogno; after turning sharply to the right, with a short stretch of fast reach the asphalt (fraction Bossi).
Take a left at the fork the main road until you reach the dirt road; this along, turn right on stairs and then walk funny, and then we take to reach Arogno Rovio.
We enter the old town, and immediately take the exit on the left; with this path we reach the spectacular waterfall of Botto.
cross with caution slippery stairs and the bridge (on foot), and continue the trail, which after a couple of pulls uphill, gradually becomes faster and wider, until to reach the asphalt that climbs from Melano.
From here go back on the road to Mendrisio (track is in the Canton, but for those who want to Capolago part of a path to Mendrisio).
