Trail Description

Beautiful and challenging uphill ride with hard strokes with a push in the final, long and rewarding path of descent on easy or medium difficulty, but with an exposed stretch that requires attention (not recommended for those suffering from the trails on the steep sides or exposed).

Climb Ried from the cable car at the parking lot for Rosswald, which can be used to reduce the ascent of 1000 meters. In fact, the track will take you straight to Rosswald on paved road but in fact devoid of traffic and with pleasant path in coniferous forests. From Rosswald mix of dirt road and single track pedaled for the most part, but with a few feet to push, especially in the last 300 meters of ascent where there are deadly ramps that put a strain on the legs of the rider and the traction of the bike. A short uphill stretch is almost meadows so the road (which serves a ski slope) is now deleted, but there are never any underlying problems, the more you push a little, as I did.

Just before the summit crosses the descent route, a trail that has suffered the stunning silhouette that would soon awaits the intrepid biker! Follow it uphill for a short distance, lane with good leg while
the last 50 meters are only to reach the summit cross, where to leave the bike is easy to intuit: the path ceases to be decidedly path and looking up look close you can see the summit cross (see photo attached).
The view from the top is gorgeous modest, peeps well cervino between mitschabel and waisshorn.
The descent is not never difficult, although present traits are not trivial, especially the beautiful path suffers torrential rains that tend to create annoying ruts, almost always avoidable, as it is quite wide, but the impression is that it can easily change the face: when I walked I have had little trouble in a few spots eroded.
The main difficulty is of another kind: it has a long traverse adrenaline, but whose exposure does not allow the release of the track! I say to avoid misunderstandings, it is dangerous even if the bottom is good and decent width (it is some shrinkage).
The adrenaline accumulated can be well vent approaching Rosswald, in fact, the path becomes less and less exposed to, and Consequently faster and relaxing. From Rosswald Ried is a fun ride, both flow and large hairpins suitable for all, about 1000 meters to be drunk in one go, but be alert for walkers and a couple of road crossings.
Old Project , but returned after the move in Brianza, exploited the first good opportunity to fill a gap in the exploration of the area, yet the top of what I have tried for the mtb (from sempione in zermatt, an avalanche of wonderful itineraries.) < br>
State of sempione, go over the pass towards Brig Ried exit and follow the signs for Rosswald and the cable car, ample free parking facilities.
