Trail Description

Ulteriori informazioni a.

More information.
The first stage of the Tour of Mont Blanc began to La Palud, a few miles north of Courmayeur, and provides the long climb in Van Veny: the first part of the ascent presents demanding stretches up to Plan Ponquet, then continuing with long falsipiani up to Plan de Lognan; the steep climb back to here and now dirt reaches the plateau of the Lac de Combal located beneath the glacier Miage, just one of many that can be seen in the valley.
Entering the final part of the Val Veny, the rocky Lex Blanche, past the turning for the next Elisabetta Soldini refuge shortly after taking the path that covers the two-hundred meters (largely non-cycling) up to the Col de la Seigne.
You go down well in French territory, entering a landscape context, at the heart of the Vanoise National Park, along a single track fast and relatively little technical, except for a few short steps more difficult. In view of the shelter Mottets continue on the valley floor before reaching Ville des Glaciers and then Les Champieux: this small, isolated village is pleasant and the end of the first stage.
De noted that the only accommodation available nearby are Hotel La Nova (Les Chapieux) and the refuge Mottets (at Ville des Glaciers). Many other hotels are present in Bourg-Saint-Maurice (18km.), From where shuttle bus transfer service to perform.
Starting point: Courmayeur, La Palud fraction, Mont Blanc cable car station.
Point Arrival: Les Champieux, a hamlet of the town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
