< br> Climb to the head dell'Assietta, a must for those who pass the Chisone in MTB. This year, with Henry, I have traveled in a clockwise direction from Sestriere to the head dell'Assietta.
Out from Sestriere where you can leave your car in a large parking lot. Ascent to Col Basset road white background with good and steady climb. Technically easy, but we are at 2000 meters and above and for cyclists to low altitudes as the altitude makes me feel. On dirt road to reach the Col Basset, unparalleled views ... after a slight descent begins a long stretch in which alternates the descent to short uphill sections. Numerous marmots peep out of their holes and hide as we passed. The climb, constant and never too busy. In a few miles you conquer Mount Genevris, last real top of the usual photos around ... and again. Colle Lauson and then the Head dell'Assietta. A little 'cold wind pushes us not to stop and start the descent towards Balboutet. White road not technical, but ... it's very fast and easy to overheat the brakes. ...
Reached Pourrieres along State Road 23 to Sestriere.
The track ends at Allevè.
It is advisable to go through this round Wednesdays or Saturdays because the road is closed to cars and motorcycles.
