Trail Description

Discesa classica in mtb.
Autostrada per Bellinzona, seguire per Locarno, uscita a Tenero.

Classic route of the Locarno high yield, great fun, with variant offered here is very difficult in the end, easily circumvented by those who do not feel like it. The climb can be largely mechanized with cable + chairlift.
After a few years back finally near Locarno, where no shortage of fun places. The top of Trosa is reached after a long climb almost entirely paved and with a mixture of portage / push and riding on the trail, tiring but without significant difficulties.
So much effort is rewarded not only by the view of the summit , a beautiful and long descent on the trail! The track features one of the possible variants, and is of medium difficulty, except in the 200 vertical meters before the village of Contra where it is very difficult.
The track provides transit from Monti di Lego, a wonderful balcony overlooking the lake Locarno, charming place I wanted to visit and in fact worth the visit! The type of soil encountered is varied, the highest part well bicycle but with stony bottom, a bit of stairs and irregularities typical of mountain trails, in any case very rewarding! The middle part is a fantastic flow, which leads to brisk and very funny, the final part has two faces, one very difficult and, at least for me not much fun on the trail that requires good driving skills and to handle it all in saddle (I'm down at several points), and finally a lot of steps, sometimes with steep slopes, which goes across Contra and return to Tender, without using the road (which remains valid alternative).
TIP: To avoid the broken-down mule and also continue with the last part of the path much more fun lane and follow the tourist signs for VIONA, the signs are always very good and comprehensive, do not be afraid to leave the track. It ends on a paved road that brings in short to the point of departure.
Done May 26 with marciapic.
PS From Cardada there is a nice downhill path, dedicated to mountain biking, fun and most of medium difficulty. Of the many possible variations on the trail proposal point out here:
- From the mountains of Lego down a path that alternates Mergoscia on easy medium difficult at times, a bit of stairs (bass) and hairpin bends, short push / cycled before the village (suggestive). In this case attention to some exposed sections.
- Get off to Fontai in Val Resa without going through the mountains of Lego. Classic downhill mountain bike.
Highway to Bellinzona, Locarno follow to exit to Tender.
