Nota 1: siamo partiti dal Villaggio del Pescatore che offre maggior possibilità di parcheggio rispetto a Duino. Chi volesse accorciare (di circa 5,5 km) può parcheggiare direttamente a DUINO, all'inizio del sentiero Rilke (poco più in basso del wp B – parcheggio del Castello).
Nota 2: il sentiero Rilke (tra Duino e Sistiana) è una passeggiata, abbastanza frequentata da pedoni; questi hanno la precedenza; passate piano, … i ciclisti per ora sono tollerati, se si comportano educatamente.
DESCRIZIONE
Dal Villaggio del Pescatore, si inizia a salire per la principale e ben presto la si lascia per valicare su sterrato il promontorio che ci divide da Duino. Passiamo alti sul paese ed andiamo all'inizio del Sent. Rilke (v. nota 2) . Stupendo il panorama sulla costa; la vista può spaziare fino a Trieste mentre da un belvedere (wp C) si scorge il castello di Duino (di cui in nota 1).
Il sentiero sale di poche decine di m, prima di scender a Sistiana ma il fondo a tratti roccioso (o l'incrocio con pedoni) costringerà a piedi per qualche brevissimo tratto. Una buona occasione per meglio apprezzare il panorama. Da Sistiana si devono percorrere, lungo la strada principale, circa 2 km parzialmente mitigati da un tratto di marciapiede ciclabile. Poi si devia verso la costa e si raggiunge nel wp G uno stupendo sentiero, in lieve discesa al bordo di una profumata pineta e con vista sul golfo di Trieste (Castello di Miramare) che …. vorremmo non finisse mai. Dopo 2,5 Km si ritrova l'asfalto e si prende a salire per il paese di Santa Croce; qui si trova un rubinetto, appena all'interno del cimitero.
Dal paese si sale, immersi in una fitta pineta, al belvedere del monte San Primo (q max del percorso – 280 m) con eccezionale vista a 360 °. La discesa, inizialmente accidentata, poi entra nel bosco e spiana. Ci si dirige ora verso il confine Sloveno; poco dopo Grabovizza si incontra l'unico tratto non ciclabile: la pendenza è modesta ma la strettezza del sentiero e grosse pietre costringono ad una camminata di una decina di minuti. Quando il fondo migliora si arriva presto a Sales (rubinetto). Per un po' si resta sull' altipiano ad una quota di circa 200 m; con brevi saliscendi e l'alternanza tra sentierini erbosi e belle forestali nel fitto bosco; quasi sempre si seguono ind. di percorsi cilclabili ed il n° 31 che contraddistingue il sentiero Gemina (pittogramma bianco/rosso). Si passa per i paesi di Prepotto e San Pelagio, quindi con una salita un po' più impegnativa si arriva a Malchina dove si può trovare ristoro (Bar – Agritur.) . Lasciata Malchina, ancora un po' di salita poi il discesone finale su Duino (interrotto da un Km in contropendenza dopo Ceroglie - wp O2).
Il ritorno al Villaggio ora avviene per un sentiero più impervio di quello dell'andata ma è da farsi in discesa e ci regalerà l'ultimo panorama marino di questo bel percorso.
Avendo preso l'A4 Venezia-Trieste, si esce alla barriera Lisert (Monfalcone Est) e ci si immette sulla SS 14 per DUINO; dopo 4,5 Km dal casello si trova la strada che scende a mare con ind. Villaggio del Pescatore; in breve si arriva alla piazzetta con parcheggio fronte mare.

Note 1: we started from Fisherman's Village that offers greater possibility of parking compared to Duino. Anyone wishing to shorten (about 5.5 km) DUINO can park directly at the beginning of the path Rilke (slightly lower than the wp B - Castle parking).
Note 2: Rilke (between Duino and sistiana) is a walk, quite frequented by pedestrians; these take precedence; previous plan, for now ... cyclists are tolerated, if they behave politely.
DESCRIPTION
From the Fisherman's Village, you start to climb to the main and soon you leave it on a dirt road to cross the headland that divides us from Duino. Let the high country and go at the beginning of Sent. Rilke (v. Note 2). The wonderful view of the coast; the view can range up to a lookout while Trieste (wp C) you can see the castle of Duino (referred to in footnote 1).
The trail climbs a few tens of meters, before going down to the bottom but Sistiana sometimes rocky (or the intersection with pedestrians) force you to walk for a short stretch. A good opportunity to better appreciate the view. From Sistiana you have to travel along the main road, about 2 km partially mitigated by a stretch of sidewalk path. Then he turns towards the coast and can be reached in wp G a beautiful trail, slightly downhill to the edge of a fragrant pine forest and overlooking the Gulf of Trieste (Castello di Miramare) ... that. we would never end. After 2.5 km you will find the tarmac and starts to climb to the village of Santa Croce; here is a tap, just inside the cemetery.
From the village halls, surrounded by a thick pine forest, to the viewpoint of Mount San Primo (q max of the location - 280 m) with exceptional 360 ° view. The descent initially bumpy, then enters the forest and smoothes.
